    Earths??

Cheers for the advice, I went to my local motor factors today and got some nice thick earth straps. Although the strap from the battery - to the gearbox looked fine, i replaced it anyway. I never had a strap from the engine to the chassis so i cut one down to fit and this seemed to cure the...

    Earths??

Ok so today I had a little look at my 90. Now the earth strap from the negative battery terminal to the gearbox seems ok, nice and tight and all that. The positive to the best of my knowlege goes to the starter then to the alternator, and everything runs off this live feed from the...

    Heater - recurculation?

To be fair ive had it up this afternoon adjusting heater controls. Sure the engine's not an ideal place to reroute the heater intake (i never said it was), and it smells a bit funky. But if you want to try and solve a problem thats not ideal in the first place withought trying a new matrix...

    Earths??

Okydokey, I'll go for a new earth strap on monday, then i'll see how it goes. Is it the case of getting one for a 200tdi, or just buying the cable and fitting terminals?? Thanks Ollie

    Heater - recurculation?

Too true, i mean its not ideal but providing your manifolds not leaking but im sure the air would be quite abit warmer and you wouldnt need to drill any nasty holes in the bulkhead. Ollie

    Heater - recurculation?

Rather than re recirculate air inside the cab, why not move the heater intake to slightly behind the engine where once up to temp the air heading into the intake will be warmish?? Ollie

    Earths??

Righto, i went for a little drive in my 90 today for the first time in around 3 months and noticed the lights were looking rather dim, and when pressing the clutch/brake pedal down the brightness increased, and when putting on the handbrake the lights were nice and bright. I know the earth strap...

    Ram intake/air scoop??

Hi, my heater's air pressure isnt great to be honest and having seen quite a few air/ram intake's on ebay (below are a few examples) I just wondered if they were actually any good, or just for looks?? Ive also seen them for both sides, do people hook up the heater one side, and a pipe to the...

    Bright but then dim

I got my hands on some wiring diagrams for my 90 to help me through, i think they might have been from the rave manual but im not sure. Although it cant hurt to go under your landy and double check the major earthing straps. Ollie

    Bright but then dim

Sounds like a dodgey earth to me, id have a look round and see if any have come loose and even if not, often corrosion occurs between the earth strap and the body (or thats what happened to me anyway) so its not gonna hurt to disconect a few, clean the mating surfaces and reattach them. Ollie

    Landy for 17 year old??!!

Oh thats weird, ive been with them about a year now, got a bargain of a quote when i passed. about £450 on a 200tdi 90. to be fair its 3rd party, my dads the main driver , limited millage policy etc etc.. I dont get a no claims discount but at that price i cant complain :) Ollei

    battery or alternator?

I had a similar problem when i got a new stereo. I havent had time to look at earths properly yet so for the time being have just run a seperate feed to it and it works fine. :) Just need time to sort out the dodgey earth/s  Ollie

    Rear Door Card

My 90 never came with one so made one up, a few hours with a grinder and some sheet and i was done, it covers the wiper motor and check strap too. I allready had the steel so it was just a question of buying a few rattle cans of paint :) Ollie

MOT time... any recommendations... afew issues

I know often hazard failure can be just due to the switch. I know that was the case with mine as im often smacking it with my knee getting in and out. If its not visibly damaged its worth taking 10 mins just to take it out and make sure the contacts are as they should be. Ollie
