    Coolest Landrover you've seen thread

Apparently the v16 is limited to 125 miles per hour, because thats sensible in a vehicle with all the handling characteristics of a boat.. mind you it is the mail.. Link

    stop solenoid switch

Did you need to use a relay to switch the pump, or was the current low enough to go straight to the switch?? Thanks Ollie

300 Tdi timing belt, new landy.

Im in a similar situation, ive got a g reg 90 which has had a defender 200tdi put in it. The vehicle has done about 190,000 miles although im not sure at what point the engine was fitted, or when it last had the timing belt changed. So i think im gonna get a new one fitted as soon as im home...

How to fit an Ipod input or aux jack to 110 Defender 2008

Ive been wanting to do this to the headunit in my 90 for some time and remembered some tutorials about hardwiring an aux input into it, as luck would have it ive managed to find it. It doesnt look that hard tbh if your into that sort of thing, it also has a few trouble shooting bits and bobs and...

    leaking oil

Simple way to check, clean the engine (steam cleaning is pretty quick) then run it up to temp for a bit, then it'll be clear where the oil comes from. :)

Opinions please, little mod on my truck.

If it is an exhaust, you may want to make a heat shield to protect the windscreen rubber perhaps as it'll get a little toasty no doubt ;)

Opinions please, little mod on my truck.

You say it sounds nice, do you mean to say it is an exhaust or a snorkle?? I think it looks alright, i mean it would look better with solid instead of the flexi pipe, but you'd be there for hours lining bits up etc to make it look nice. Ollie

Help ! To Save or not to Save

If your cutting the old metal out and butt welding a new section in, its good practice to cut all the rust out (if possible) so that your welding to metal thats fairly uncorroded. Just whip the caliper out and measure up the thickness, which obviously on an older vehicle is going to be give or...

    Retrofit PAS...?

Thats the same as mine, sure does keep you alert on the motorway when you get a nice strong sidewind! I checked all the balljoints a while back which were fine and tightened in the screw with little effect, does it really matter how far you screw it in?? as i heard turning it too far damaged...

What am I doing wrong? (Oil change)

When i did my first change I had to use a breaker bar the plug was so tight, i'd have had no chance with a ratchet. Chances are if this is overtightened, so may be a fair few other bolts so it'l come in handy for other jobs too. Ive got a 200tdi and im pretty sure my plug requires a 32mm...

265/75/16 bfg tyers having trouble to balence them????

Yeah sounds like you could do with going to a better fitters personally. Although if even then you still get problems, I think theres some gunge (sort of like the anti puncture stuff) that you can put in your tyres that keeps them balanced, and it doesnt solidify so they will remain balanced...

    central locking td5

The range on my cheap ebay central locking was crap, so i followed this trick and it worked out great. (Just make sure you dont get too enthusiastic with the soldering because the antenna module generally wont take heat for too long.) YouTube- Amazing Car Remote Mod!

    Suspicious Oil Overfill!!

Ive recently come back from uni and went out in my 90 for the first time since xmas earlier. Im planning a drive to cornwall in the morning (3-4hrs) so thought i'd check the oil level prior to leaving. It read well above the "danger" mark which was odd because when i changed the oils in the...

In two minds of what to do...aaah

As depressing as it sounds, as arc says youve gotta be realistic. In an ideal world, yeah i'd say keep it. But if you havent got the space, time or really justify the money to store everything then i'd say its probably best to sell it. :( Although you wont get as much for it in bits, you'll end...

    Engine Upgrade? Tdi? Worth It?

Fair enough, in my case i'm at uni during term time and as ive got nowhere to park my 90 its been at home this year and last. On my insurance the registered address is at home anyway, so its pretty clear to the insurer that i'm only able to drive it a fraction of the time my dad can. Ollie

    Engine Upgrade? Tdi? Worth It?

Bloody hell! thats a fair bit on insurance, ive been insured on my 90 since i was 18, and ive been paying between 400-500 on the nfu. Theres a catch tho, my dad is the main driver so i wont get a no claims bonus and its on a limited millage policy, but providing i stay within the millage which i...

Central Locking / Alarm - suggestions please

There are loads on ebay, you might find it easier to buy one with an alarm included allready, then you know for sure it will work, rather than trying to make the locking compatable with your factory setup. I was looking into getting central locking last summer and in the end opted not to...
