    Britpart / OE Bushes

Cheers for the replies guys, I phoned paddock this morning and although they say their britpart, apparently they often package other peoples products (i dont know how true that is though?). They did mention that genuine bushes should be marked or feature a number on the rubber, something...

    Britpart / OE Bushes

Right so I payed extra, £25 odd quid for front and the same for rear oe bushes, as opposed to the £6 for each pack of non oe from paddocks. I phoned them to make sure that the ones i would be ordering were manufactured by landrover, but surprise surprise they have that blue badge!! :mad...

I had a little time to take the drive gear out of the gearbox the otherday and it turned out that the square recepticle in the end of the gear shaft had broken. Two questions, 1) WHat coulour is this.. yellow.. green.. brown?? 2) Does anyone have any ideas where I can get a new one? Cheers...

    Broken Speedo Linkage

My speedo stopped working today, so I brought the clocks forward to make sure the cable hadn't popped out (and although a little loose) it hadn't. I then took the centre seat out and undid the cable from the transfer box and gave it a turn. I first thought the cable had snapped but unfortunately...

    paint touch up

If its just surface rust, I'd just use a wire brush/sandpaper to get rid of it and take it back to clean metal before priming and popping a few coats of paint on top, or use something like hammerite which generally doesnt require a primer and is pretty hard wearing to boot. Ollie

    200tdi Exhaust Length

Hi, the exhaust on my 200tdi 90 isnt looking so good and I'd quite like to try and weld a bit of stainless and fabricate myself a straight through exhaust. However, if I am going to do this I need to order my materials, e.g. pipe, fittings, filler wire etc pronto. Unfortunatley my landy isnt...

    Insurance b******s!

Although the insurer can pull all the details from the v5, its also good practice to mention it to them as well. Then if you are in an accident you know you are fully covered. Im with the NFU and when I informed them about my change, they asked whether it had been done by a garage, although...

    Tyre mount for rear bulkhead??

Personally id just buy the door spare wheel bracket (if you done allready have one) and as said, mount it to the centre bulkhead reinforcing it with a spreader plate - job done and it'll set you back quite a bit less than that bonnet mounted wheel mount. Ollie

    Earth Strap

I had a few earth issues a while back. Originally i only had an earth strap from the neg battery terminal to the transfer box. So i renewed this one, then earthed the engine to the chassis and also earthed the body to the transfer box (I just attached a lead to one of the bolts holding the...

    stop solenoid switch

Maybe a pm with a few photo links would be a wise idea rather than posting them here, atleast then your reducing the accessability of the info ;) Ollie

    fresh mot :) but!

True true, ideally with a decent rad and no blockages, although in my case it was a case of those including the fan. To be honest a new fan hub sorted my issues for normal road driving, but i guess close to 20 years of use had taken its toll on other components :(. Still, all good now :) Ollie

    fresh mot :) but!

Im pretty sure i got mine from here, although i have to admit it doesnt mention bearmach in the listing, you could allways message him to find out. However theres plenty on ebay and landy sites and there not too pricey anyway. Before i bought my new replacement one, i did source one from a...

    Self-darkening welding masks

I use a speedglas auto darkening helmet, and personally i find them much easier to weld with than draditional masks. I guess they are a little bit more pricey than some of the cheaper ones on ebay, but in my opinion £100 or so (less second hand) is a small price to pay for decent eyesight...

    stop solenoid switch

Cheers for the info, im gonna do a td5 dash conversion in a few weeks so i'll wire it up to a hidden switch somewhere whilst all the wires are nice and accessible. Just a question, would it be reccomended to use a relay to complete the circuit, or would i be fine simply wiring it direct? Also...

    fresh mot :) but!

I found i could stop mine with my hand a while back and it had a fair bit of sideways wobble too(i made sure it was nice and tight) (coupled with my 200tdi getting rather hot) so replaced it with a new bearmach viscous unit, it was only £35 or so and does thew job much better now. My rad was...
