Thanks chaser , but i have just gained access to the in tank pump and before i whipped it out of the tank i tested for voltage on the white purple power supply lead to the pump and nothing .....the fuel gauge line did have voltage . So i wonder as both pumps run from the relay on the same line i...

update , seems you were correct on the removal of the inner trim because when i did so the earth was not even connected ! so made connection and all ok THANKS Alan

ok Finendandy , i have been using the "green" wilko 2 stroke oil for a couple of months now and have to say its done its job with no problems , but keep away from the "red " wilkos oil as its synthetic , wont burn as good and its more money !

As others have said you need to give it a few hundred miles, i had mine done 5 months ago and the bite point was in the carpet so i asked the mechanic if this is ok and he replied "give it a week" and he was correct after a week the bite point began to rise up the pedal travel and has remained so .

Hi Singvogel, Well just checked the voltage , lhs [bad side] 12.29v rhs 12.19v and towbar 12.05v so the plot thickens , have just sprayed some wd40 into the bulb holders ,but this voltage test suggests all well with the positive feed.Will try behind the trim asap but dont send the snow...

Thanks for the replies, i have just checked all the connections on the bulb and cleaned them up , i put an extra earth onto the bulb body direct to a good earth point but made no difference so maybe the weak spot is on the positive feed to the bulb i.e. in the junction box as singvogel suggests...

dadipiper, Had my td4 clutch and slave cylinder done 2 months ago cost £365 all in and mine was a bit hard to get a gear at first, however 2 weeks later the clutch seemed to bite further up the pedal travel and gear selection got better , maybe stick with it a while . Hope this helps
