If anybody would like one of these units, then Technozen from MG - Rover.Org -||- The ultimate site for MG and Rover enthusiasts! can build and post for £16.00. If say 20 people were interested than this figure could drop by a few pounds due to savings on multiple component orders.
Never thought of that, but would that affect the odometer - last time I changed an instrument pod the odometer kept flashing as it was different to the value stored in the BECM....
Anyway, I like a challenge!!
Thanks for that comment....
I guess if you don't own or drive an early freelander then you don't know how frustrating it is when the pointer moves to the red when there is plenty of fuel remaining.
Well I was, and also the inaccuracy of the reserve.
I often found that I could safely cover 30 miles with the fuel guage covering the red section (1998 Freelander). A few weeks ago, I covered 50 motorway miles with the pointer in the red, drove a further 20 miles and vehicle was still running...
1997 - 2000 wheels only fit 1997 - 2000 vehicles.
2001 on fit all freelander 1's.
The brake system was modified and hence fouls the newer wheels. Drop them on ebay and get a set of post 2001 alloys.

Steve
I was asking for a pic of the satnav CD drive as I may be able to remove some from salvage vehicles.
Your head unit does not look too out of place in your P38. Some are hideous!!

Steve
The white freelander you mention is a GRP (fibreglass) body fitted to a traditional Land Rover chassis. There was a full article about it in a previous LRO mag. I'll see if i can find....
I like the look of it and thought (for simplicity and cost implications) about using my bodyshell in...
I can't say whether it will or won't fit (cant see why not, but more expert people on here), but will be happy to answer any questions. It has standard ISO connectors at the rear etc.

Steve

Thanks for reply, sorry I can't help. There was a guy advertising a sat nav screen in another thread (via ebay), perhaps you could send a message to see if he has the cd drive.
Or you could indeed go the tomtom route....
Fair comment....
Is the cd drive made by / labelled Philips?? (remember I'm not a P38 owner) I have a Philips drive from a sat nav installation knocking about. It has a small fan at rear.

Steve
