    De-cat Downpipe

Blimey, live and learn - I've lived 2 miles outside Braintree for the last 11 years and I never knew there was a scrappy in the area! I may investigate at the weekend... is it on the main Braintree to Witham road near Cressing?

Help My TD5 is too thirsty...

You may have a point there. However, I refilled to first click and my MPG is a shade under 22. I'm quite happy with that considering it never had a long run at all. What is interesting is that to the first click I managed to squeeze in 57.3 litres. Now, before I filled up, the guage was at 1...

Help My TD5 is too thirsty...

You're not wrong about the performance, however, the upside is I won't be at risk of losing my licence every time I venture out :D I do the same as you... fill the tank on a new car. Trouble with this one was that's how I found out the seal had gone the the sender unit and promptly lost a...

Help My TD5 is too thirsty...

I'm just at the end of my first full tank since buying my '02 TD5 Auto.... it's currently sitting at one notch above empty and I've only done 290 miles. However, I've only used it for my commute to the station which is 10 miles each way, so no long runs and always in traffic. I filled it to one...

    Alarm chimes

I hope it's the norm as mine's exactly the same. I've only had mine a few weeks so still learning... I think it is a seat belt reminder, I keep trying to remember to put the belt on before I turn on the ignition but I always forget

    high Insurance problem

Earlier this year I was phoning around for quotes on a £500 hack - I thought I'd go 3rd party as it was worth practically nothing, however, 9 times out of 10 it was considerably cheaper to go fully comp. No idea how that works:doh:

    Job for tomorrow

I had this last week and it turned out to be a seal on the sender unit (well, that's what the man at the garage said anyway) :scratching_chin:

    Diesel Leak - '02 TD5

Hi chaps, just to bring this to a conclusion... it was the seal on the fuel sender unit - all fixed now :) Just awaiting delivery of the locating rings which will hopefully sort the wheel wobble at 45mph+ (Range Rover alloys) then we're all systems go!

    Diesel Leak - '02 TD5

Thanks for the quick replies. It had been sitting with low fuel since I bought it and I didn't notice any leaks so this would appear to be a problem with a full tank and if the sender's at the top then it would point to what you suggest. I knew I should only have chucked £20 in it! It's a...

    Diesel Leak - '02 TD5

I feel a bit bad too be honest - I only bought the thing Tuesday and already this is my second question (and I did search)... I filled the tank tonight (first click in pump). The gauge before I filled showed just under the 2nd to last notch - it clicked off at 59 litres. When I came back...

'02 TD5 Auto: transfer box selection difficulty

I did! Honest :D I thought it had to have been covered and was surprised I couldn't find anything. I'll try again... perhaps 'box' and 'stiff' in the same search won't always come back with Land Rover specific results

'02 TD5 Auto: transfer box selection difficulty

Hi all, Apologies, only joined yesterday and only bought it Tuesday but I have a question already: How stiff/difficult should it be to select the low gears? When it's cold it's nye on impossible to move the lever and after a 20 minute drive, so once the oil's up to temp, I'd say it...

    Evening all

Hi, Just thought I'd introduce myself as I hope to be an active member of the forum. Today I've just bought an '02 TD5 ES Auto and I'm sure I'll have some questions.... I'll try and post some pics tomorrow. It's not my first delve into LR territory, I had a Disco 1 (H51 KPU) for a year or...
