Hopefully it's coincidence Might be the first and revese gear sensor playing up, think thats what it's called. it's on the outside of gearbox pointing to front of car. the only think i can think of at the moment, it happend on mine the bit the cables go on had snapped off the switch. replaced...

Put new wipers on it as the old ones had gone they had curved up at the end.. Can see where i'm going now aswell:D
