What about boost alloys off a 300 discovery? would they not have the same weight rating as later defender boosts?

Bloody hell, that dogs nearly as tall as the 90!! do like to see these sort of threads. Definitely worth doing most of the prep work yourself for paint, as I have learnt over the years, cuts down the price over half I reckon.

My drivers-side side-repeater is now dimly it when I have side lights on, this is starting to become very puzzling.

Got an electrical problem on my 300 110. It all started a few weeks ago, driving a short distance, it started to rain so I turned the wipers and side lights on, plus had the heater on, when the temp gauge went right into the red, so I pulled over to check everything, water was cool, and no sign...

Ive owned, a 200tdi, and still own a 300 and a td5, and as mentioned before they all have their pros and cons, depends on what you want to use it for, I love 'em all as much as each other!!

From what ive read, LR have scrapped the DC 100 design for the next defender, and have gone back to the drawing board, the new design they're working on is supposed to be more rugged and upmarket. Ill have a look for a link...

Personally not a fan of the standard silver chequer plate, but black painted plating only on the wing tops is a little more subtle and serves a purpose so im ok with that.

Thanks for all the replies guys, really helpful. I think im going to go with silent coat sheets for the base, closed cell foam for the middle and new carpet set for the top to finish it off, hopefully that should do the job.

Before all the current matting broke down, it was fine, its just recently its gotten 10x worse and I cant hear myself think, I've taken all the carpets out now and its only a tad worse, which proves how bad its gotten. Thanks for the replies folks, ill have a measure up and price up some...
