Tank is out. Nothing snapped amazingly! Haven't checked brake pipes yet. On the new pump the two metal pipes don't have the flare on like the old one does. Anyone know what kind of flare tool I'd need for this? Would it be the same one to do the brake pipe? EDIT: just had another look in...

I've replaced brake pipes before. They aren't all the same. You can get rigid ones, flexi ones, long ones, short ones etc etc, I haven't taken the tank off and I've never owned a p38 before now so was hoping for some knowledge from someone who's tackled the job before

It was nose down on the slope, front prop disconnected and gear selector bent so won't go in park. Was planning to do many things this weekend! It's now in the garage and rx8 on the drive so will have another crack tomorrow.

Unfortunately, or possibly fortunately in this case, the car is currently on springs, which I hope to change soon. Didn't get as far as being under the car because every time I jacked the back up it rolled off. Will bear it in mind though when it's back on air. Thank you for your concern

Do you think if I dropped the tank a few inches I could get to the brake pipe? Current thoughts are get the pump done using boot floor method so I can take it to my dads house where it's flatter and I can jack the car up better

Thanks gfromleeds, I know I'm lucky, could have been much much worse - that is as long as the gearbox casing isn't cracked! Looks ok but with the wind and rain not really the best conditions to be having a good check!

Thanks Datatek, should have known you'd have a different suggestion! It's the front prop that's gone. It's dented the gearbox sump and the transmission tunnel but other than that looks ok. It has sheared off on the UJ. If I was to remove the prop would it drive as a RWD to get me home?
