    This morning.....

I was out on 'public land rover service' last night looking for victims, but nothing... Until my best mate called me about half tem and his bird had written her clio off. Oops!

    dodgy Hand brake

It'll be full of **** and slime - take rear prop shaft off and the handbrake drum and clean it all up. Problem is crap can find it's way in there, but can't get back out. Did mine not so long since and it's spot on now. A bit of a faff but it'll do until I get an x-eng disc brake.

MOT Time - bit of advice please!

Time for the Defender to go in for it's MOT and just got a couple of questions... Will any of the following be issues? No front mud flaps No rear anti-roll bar Cracked front number plate - should I replace it? Took one of the rear reflectors off to fit the wheel carrier / hi-lift Tyres have...

    robbing thieving scumbag arsehole ****heads

I had a couple of issues with a local guy who recommended, but soon un-recommended! I killed a diff at a play day and it was one of the middle cogs which broke - nothing major. They said it'd be a worst case of £250 to fix the diff. I thought it would be a great chance to stick an ARB locker...

    Serious Soundproofing for a 110

Hi, I was looking at some Second Skin stuff from Car Audio Direct a few months back and asked them how it would cope in the defender, considering it would at times be completely immersed in water and mud. Here's the response: I haven't got round to buying any yet but I reckon I will try...

    110 Crashed

Same with un-taxed motors and stuff... They're crushed, regardless of value. So wasteful it's sickening. Why not send them off to auction and stick the money back into the system or do something useful with it? And if the shredders are still hungry for things to munch up then we can always feed...

    What winch to buy?

My mate has got a Husky on his 110 and the winch and bumper are huge! No doubt it's fantastic, but carrying all that extra weight around when it hardly gets used seems a bit overkill to me. I've got a T-Max 11000lb jobby on the back of my defender and it's not let me down yet. It isn't the...

    new winch

If there is one (or two) pieces of advice I would give when fitting a winch is don't bodge the fooker! You might think it's alright when it goes in and workis, but I nearly lost my pride and joy when my cheap wire melted on the exhaust pipe, and started smoking. There was no fuse and no...

    18 inch mud terrains?

Hi All, I've got some 18" Range Rover alloys on my motor at the moment and they look the dogs whatsits. The BGF ATs are killing me at the moment as they're like running road tyres! I'm trying to find some good mud terrains to go on these so I can get my money's worth out of the air locker, and...

Water & Oil in ECU and wiring loom (TD5)

I have a similar problem with mine, but it did involve a little too much water! It got in from the top of the seat box when I was stuck in some water which was a bit too deep. Fortunately the door seals are pretty good as it was up to the windows! You need to make sure you dry it out properly...

TD5 viscous fan coupling spanner size

Well unfortunately my belt has broken and I haven't got a sodding spanner to get it off with! And how embarressing, to be Landrover-less during the time when it would otherwise show everything else up! Damn thing!

    Chequer Plated Delight!

I agree, and I have some one mine - but a chequer-plated roof and bumper?! Maybe they wear the stuff as well!

    TD5 Autologic ECU Remap

Sound advice, mine broke and it cost the best part of 200 quid to get it right again... Had to go to the engineers and be reskimmed and all that other crap the garage like to bill you for!
