just put my dse on ebay and low and behold its started to idle funny. It used to do it occasionally when very hot and a quick blip of the throttle would cure it..clutch replaced last week, dmf had a bit of play but no where near as bad as 1 on u tube, which leads me to think either fuel pump or...

Taken wife out again after her fateful last outing which resulted in her snapping off gearstick...had to get gearbox dropped to repair, anyway its a ****ing disaster and she nearly snapped it off again, its now on ebay as i'm looking to swap for an auto..just put on, look for java black dse...

in last 6 weeks: gearlever snapped off, £125, lowered gearbox and new pin fitted, then fuel pump re-timed, £120, then clutch pins went...£1.56 for 2 new pins, bought valeo clutch kit £195, plus £330 to fit....changed oil and filter £35. Took off side steps to address rust, £20 for red oxide plus...

well 'v had both lpg and petrol, lpg in the long run costs far more, speaking from experience. Went thru 3 engines in 29,000 miles, replaced lpg injectors twice, had a prins system, then zavolli (really crap) and finally a dream system.Had nothing but trouble with lpg....Now got 2000 model dse...

Anyone done a conversion? Cant live with my SLOW dse, even tho its been re-mapped......Got a 530d with good engine and manual gearbox, so changing ecu etc no probs...any hints, tips greatfully received, cheers

removed pipe from exhaust to egr and blanked off with a piece of stainless cut to size, looks very neat and didn't cost a penny.

What a difference, no more low speed hesitation, pulls cleanly throughout the rev range and feels slightly faster too. Hopefully this will be the end of my very very expensive woes...Anyone else removed theirs?

try NFU, doing good discounts for new customers on landrovers, DO NOT use, ADMIRAL, give you great price initially but as soon as you make changes, ie change car massive premiums incure.We moved 3 miles down road before xmas and they wanted extra £760!!! I kid you not, cancelled and went to NFU...

i know, my original v8 disco 1 lpg still going strong after i sold for 700 3 years ago and upgraded to disco 2 on lpg, went thru 2 engines but did 29000 in 1 year....problem with p38's is that they (mine) keep going wrong....i'm about as usefull a mechanic as a goldfish and hence why i'm always...

Just about had enough, had new clutch fitted yesterday (£550) AS pins had snapped (£1.50), great now spent all redundancy, 4 brand new kumhos on 19" wheels, fuel pump timed properly (£120) so now starts hot or cold instantly, then another £120 when missus snapped gearlever of, another fackin...

was tickover erratic all the time when warm? Mines a bit sporadic, i guess i'll found out on mon when gearbox comes off and dmf can be checked for play....cheers for response.

i agree, but i havnt got £6oo plus vat i'v been quoted....Also if it is dmf causing vibration at idle, surely it would do it all the time??

Getting clutch pins changed mon, so thought may as well check dual mass flywheel too, as getting funny vibration, almost like fuel starvation when idling after a long run, whole car shakes, then after brief tap on throttle stops? But doesn't always do it....Found a dmf for 200 plus vat direct...
