sorry people should of explained better . i have 4 coil packs (very early p38 ) on each coilpack i have 2 leads , going by the cage they are set in (its marked as such),working from the front of the car and starting on the odd bank (my right )it tells me lead 1 goes to plug 1 into coil marked...

im doing that gav but still no joy lead 1 plug 1, lead 2 plug 2(1st cylinder even bank )and so on where am i going wrong? do i need key etc re sync'd ,,,,bloody hope not.

going round bend here going by the idiots guide on the coil cage is it 1-6-5-8-7-4-3-2 or something else :mad::mad::mad:

you have me thinking charles y , i would be right in saying one of the jap motors had a problem with the injectors washing the heads off the pistons (isuzu trooper 300 ) could this of happened in this case? as for the heater tip its poss

its not uncommon to a diesel , had it on a golf once , yours killed its self , i walked away from mine and denied all responsability , not mine don't know who owns it, left it clattering away on the side of the road :cool:

baffling aint it ! couldn't tell you if its only one bank now bugger wont try to start , just pops down the exhaust when it feels like . ive cranked it to god knows where and back its also connected to my disco so i know theres enough batt power the coil plug feels and looks solid and tight ive...

i keep thinking that , but ive gone ( looking from the front of the motor )odd bank my right , even my left, i put the leads from coil packs to corresponding pot , i was thinking maybe the tangs have corroded somewhat and they are not giving the cps enough of a "pull " magneticaly if you can see...

i fitted new plugs and leads before i changed the maf and crank sensor its driven me round the bend i had it checked last night thats how i changed these told they were dead it doesnt even show its cranking on the tacho then you get it poping down the exhaust it feels as if the timing is out...

put a new crank sensor on today with a new maf the only thing it wants to do is back fire down the exhaust ive got spark etc ( its not gassed ) if the ecu and becm weren't talking surely i wouldn't get spark etc and would the cam sensor cause so much grief ? all the threads and links ive looked...

its a 1994 reg pre launch registered , on gems , has to be crank sensor then

if my afm maf etc had packed up would it stop a p38 from firing completely on one bank ?:(

that should stand out a bit ! can't the local plod check the local camera system ? they seem to do it for everything else , some ones seen it ffs dont exactly blend in does it .

if its cable , not fly by wire it would be similar to a 200 .it can only be changed from the front cover . the casting of the pump casing or block where it mounts too doesnt allow for "tapping" like on a ford or vauxhall it needs doing from the front cover you need to lock it up first then...

ok ive done just about every thread and link i can think of . does any one know of any others ? checked on rave ! cylinders 1.3.7. get warm/hot on cranking tries to run obviously wont . cylinders 5 2 4 6 8 dont even get tepid ive tried moving the coilpacks still with the same result , checked...
