    sorry people should of explained better . i have 4 coil packs (very early p38 ) on each coilpack i have 2 leads , going by the cage they are set in (its marked as such),working from the front of the car and starting on the odd bank (my right )it tells me lead 1 goes to plug 1 into coil marked...

    im doing that gav but still no joy lead 1 plug 1, lead 2 plug 2(1st cylinder even bank )and so on where am i going wrong? do i need key etc re sync'd ,,,,bloody hope not.

    i keep thinking that , but ive gone ( looking from the front of the motor )odd bank my right , even my left, i put the leads from coil packs to corresponding pot , i was thinking maybe the tangs have corroded somewhat and they are not giving the cps enough of a "pull " magneticaly if you can see...

    i fitted new plugs and leads before i changed the maf and crank sensor its driven me round the bend i had it checked last night thats how i changed these told they were dead it doesnt even show its cranking on the tacho then you get it poping down the exhaust it feels as if the timing is out...

    put a new crank sensor on today with a new maf the only thing it wants to do is back fire down the exhaust ive got spark etc ( its not gassed ) if the ecu and becm weren't talking surely i wouldn't get spark etc and would the cam sensor cause so much grief ? all the threads and links ive looked...

    if its cable , not fly by wire it would be similar to a 200 .it can only be changed from the front cover . the casting of the pump casing or block where it mounts too doesnt allow for "tapping" like on a ford or vauxhall it needs doing from the front cover you need to lock it up first then...
