it all came off no probs when it was done, mate said its usually a pain getting the bottom cam off, i dont want to mess with cam timing so i'll trake it through to my mechanic as the cam belt was done at billing and i live in sunderland and my mate lives in kent!!

yes he loosened the 3 bolts on pump pulley,he did tensioning again after turning twice by hand, he was using 9.5 mm drill bit on pump, so do you think it is just pump timing,and is the noise taht i am hearing 'diesel knock', i think i could adjust the pump timing myself as the way you have...

i killed my gearbox on my 300tdi disco after let down after let down found a good box on ebay within 5 miles of me. phoned the guy and got a great deal, then let down after let down from various mechanics to fit gearbox. telephoned guy i bought box from on the off chance he could fit, turns out...

theres les potts in sunderland, used them to renew swivel bearings and swivel ball, labour was fair but parts where really pricey, also cheviot 4x4 in north shields not used them yet similar labour charges to les potts

clutch was only done in jan, booked in for tuesday at local garage, remove old box, take transfer box off, fit trabsfer box to new gearbox and fit new gearbox £250.for some reason they wont change oil in new box so i'll do that myself

thanks m8, thats a great price but i got one from ebay last night, £120 + £55 delivery so it'll be here for saturday, just got to get someone to fit it before thursday so i can get to billing!!! anyone know a rough price for labour for this job? been quoted £150 which i think is reasonable.
