I didn't remove my bumper completely, just released it at the drivers side and under the front and it moved enough to gain access. Saved dropping it on the floor, tripping over it or scratching it. :)
That's correct no fuse in position 3.
Pull the fuse from position 5 for a few seconds, that resets the FBH in case it's had a flame out, after 3 lighting attempts it locks out and pulling the fuse resets it.
yes its the rear one of the 2 mine was misfiring and stinking of fuel, changed that and its cured. Some days it would be ok. They are under a tenner and its worth changing it. It feeds the ecu not the temp gauge.
The thermotime switch controls the cold start injector and if its faulty the cold start injector squirts extra fuel into the plenum chamber causing rough running and excesive fuelling problems. Unless its really cold the engine will start without the cold start inlector so by disconnecting it...
Hi
My 1988 Range Rover 3.5 efi seems to be missing a resistor between the -ve of the coil and the wire connected to the overfuel relay. Does any one have a spare please? or know what the resistance value is so I can make one from stock electrical components.
Thanks
If you have a 7 pin socket fitted for towing, check that, including removing it from its mounting plate as the terminals are very close together and easily shorted.
Hi, are they memory seats? I rewired mine to work manually rather than buy an ecu. The seat ecus seem to failing so I took mine apart and there is a rechargeable battery on board which had leaked and rotted the circuit board so I guess secondhand ones of the same period will all suffer a similar...
Thought I had a serious problem as the Rangie was sitting lopsided, and wouldn't level itself. Inspection shows that the link between the rear trailing arm and the height sensor has broken at the top. Can you buy these seperatly? and if so does anyone know the part number? It's a 1993 Classic SE...
Thanks Guys
bought it for £100 in 1985, ex local garage recovery vehicle, fitted a new rear crossmember and apart from an odd wheel cylinder and brake reline haven't done anything major to it apart from a coat of paint (twice).
Thanks
But I don't do much to it except use it. Fitted a new rear crossmember 20 years ago and thats about the only thing major that I have done to it apart from an annual service.
You're right, I'm getting soft! It's great not to have icy water defrosting from inside the hardtop and running down your neck. Mind I wouldn't get rid of the series 1 for anything, anyway it's a TV star been in Heartbeat.
Just thought I would say hello.
I have a 1957 Series 1 which I have owned for 20 years and have just bought a 1993 Range Rover SE A which is far too posh after the series 1 but warmer in this weather!
