Tractors followed this idea in 50s or 60s iirc but when the vehicle gets into a sticky bit the trailer had a tendency to jack knife into the vehicle, think its one of those great ideas in theory but fails in practise sadly.....but hydraulic drive could be an idea, hydraulic rams between trailer...

Can I recommend it being behind a solid steel enclosurefor safety, I wouldn't be comfortable putting a tank inside a car unless it was multi skinned or encased in a steel enclosure

My chassis, engine, gearbox and axles are all perfect but my shell is in shockingly poor condition, rotten everywhere and battered, td5 shells don't rot as badly, simple question, I'm curious just

Sorry if its been asked before but has anyone managed to put a TD5 shell onto a TDI chassis? If so is it massively different, only thing I can think of being difficult is back of chassis being shorter on the 300tdi. Thanks, Will

A seal is a seal as long as its by a reputable manufacturer, land rover don't make seals neither do britpart they just buy them off a seal maker, as Richard Martin said the shaft is probably scored where the old seal ran for years, put the seal in slightly deeper or shallower so it's running on...

Diesels need no back pressure, at all, the smoother and less restrictive the exhaust the better but to be honest you would barely notice the difference if you had a straight pipe just a loud drone when the turbos spooled up

The main problem for me with just buying a bumper is that because I'm in NI I need to palletise it to get it here with adds a lot onto the cost, hence why I want to just make it myself

Thanks, I intend to keep the winch as far forward as possible without cutting too much away from the front bumper since the husky fair lead bolts directly to the winch and I'm not happy about taking it off and moving the fair lead forward off the winch housing in case it weakens it. I'll take...

Paul your thread was my original inspiration and ill probably nearly copy your idea however it originally wasn't going to work as the husky is wider than the chassis rails so wouldn't fit, but I'm going to unbolt the solenoid pack tomorrow and try again, the husky should fit in perfectly...

I can't find any bumpers for sale for a disco and a husky, only standard winches, I'm also very reluctant to spend much on the bumper because I don't have the money to spend and I've got time and a welder
