I just dip the clutch and turn the key, couple of turns of the engine and she fires into steady running - pump tweaked, egr out, particulate filter out.

My 300 tdi is always slow to turn over yet always fires, I have taken it as a character of the beast. If it still starts and you do no need to jump the bugger let her live! Tweaking her parts may give you more trouble than you bargain for.

Maybe not so good on the juice. TD5 of mine 21 mpg Tdi of mine 33 mpg. I must say though that it has not run right since buying the bastard and when I do the EGR and pie etc I am sure it will improve. it is still no match for the tdi though but the 5 is way faster and civilised. Shame it does...
