    Defender economy?

I have an '05 TD5 90 XS and it has done a steady 25mpg for the first 1k miles. Cruising above 70 seems to have a marked effect on the economy - and your ears. I am reasonably heavy with the right foot though. :D

    Defender speaker upgrade

Cool bananas! So you don't think it's a daft plan. I had a go with the glide thingy on a 9853 and it was a bit pants - it would take some getting used to. I read a few reviews and it seems to be a bit of a love / hate thing.

    Defender speaker upgrade

Has anyone seen an Alpine 9850 ? They seem to be new out with Ipod lead and no additional box. http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=4679&cadid=67c1524fdb733bc78702e97db8f169bf Really don't know whether to go for the 9847 kit or this new 9850. There seems to be no...

Are there any Off-Road locations NW of London?

Cool, I'm new to this scene also. I live right beside J17 of the M25. We have the Chilterns on our doorstep and I'm sure there are plenty of 'beginners' lanes to try - I just need to find out where. I was also hoping there might be some more organised off-road activity so I could learn...

Can anyone recommend a Steering Guard?

I really fancy adding an Aluminium Steering Guard (with holes) to the front of my 90. There seem to be loads of options, makes and models  - has anyone had any good (or bad) experience and would any of you recommend a particular brand? I also fancy a set of Diff Guards - same...

My missus broke the hood on her Merc  and they are charging £98 an hour labour. I know , I know it's a girlie car but she is a bird at least.:D They have been pretty reasonable actually coz they have showed me what it would cost to fix properly £1500  and then said they think they...

I was wondering whether anyone is aware of much Green Laning activity in the Chilterns? Do you suggest joining GLASS or not?

    Bout ye!

Hello all. I joined a week or so ago but thought I'd introduce myself properly. We bought our first Land Rover in December, a nice new 90 XS in Java Black, from Chipperfield LR. Looking forward to having a vehicle with user serviceable parts again. Last time I had such a vehicle was an...

Are there any Off-Road locations NW of London?

Does anyone know of any off-roading locations, free or otherwise, located NW of London? I live in Rickmansworth (near Watford). Similarly, does anyone know of any local clubs, groups or owners? Thanks.
