Put 'kin huge tyres on. On mine 1st gear feels like 2nd gear and 5th is now like 6th. I used to pull away in 2nd before anyway so by my reckoning I've got a nice long legged 6 speed box!:D

I've ordered quite a bit recently from Island. Very very quick delivery with emails telling you within the hour when to expect. Absolutely top notch service. The cherry on the top is that they undercut everyone by quite a margin. Paddocks can go and fook themselves, kin rip off idiots.

Discovery all the way. Had Defenders in the past, junk compared to the discovery. Discovery can do anything a Defender can but in absolute comfort.

Got the Discovery mot'd and taxed yesterday, passed with flying colours. Chuffed as a chuffed thing, but on the way to b&q sprung a water leak. Teething troubles as all the pipe work is custom. Ditched the said rubber ****ty pipe and made a stainless pipe with a rubber piece in it for flex. So...

Stick welding has it's place as it's hugely versatile for industrial welding, however for your needs I would suggest a MIG unit. Stick welding thin panels is a pain even for the most competent welder. When I was looking to buy my first Mig unit I was wary of the cheapo stuff. I did end up buying...

Have you checked your fan belt. The belts tend to screech as they older, partly due to age or the tensioner being out of alignment. Although for me a temporary solution it may give you some time to get a new tensioner, look up "penny trick" to fix. The turbo's do squeel as they become worn...
