I have a 1988 COUNTY 90 swb and i am looking to fit a new engine what i want to know would a Disco engine fit into it and if so what mods need to be done? will it mate up to my county gearbox etc??? also what would be a fair price for L Reg 200 TDI Done 62000 miles from a Disco if any good?

I have asked alot of people bothe breakers and people who fitted boths they say that the Disco will not fit it as you say without those mods you speak of i manged to get a converstion kit to fill LT Gearbox which come with Intercooler Rad and all pipes so not bad. I am looking forward to...

Ive had to get a Defender engine for my 88 90 county and with the converstion kit it , mounts up to £2000!!! They seem to fetch alot more, your right im told they are bomb proof engines..

Well my new engine is on its way : Defender TDI and it will be great to get the old girl back on the road after having to sit and stare at her on the drive!! I hav had to suffer borrowing a car with comfy seats and no noisy engine!! I dont like em and prefer my landy anyday ya can stuff ya...

Well an update my 90 engine is dying fast starting to sound worse each day!! I have got an Defender 200 TDI engine on its way with 67000 miles on clock thank god!! But the engine sounds like piston slap or crank will be the first to go...moral of the story know ya landrovers and also faults...
