    BOLLOCKS snapped a bolt IN the head 22Nm and the fuc!!er still snapped at least its only 1/2" anf bolt but they cost like a pound to replace so am now redoing the lot. The bolt and one other looked as if the threads had stretched and thinned out but am not sure if they used stretch bolts on...

    Thanks ATO. I found the converter earlier but at nearly 90nm i might struggle with my little torque wrench. Still 90Nm seems high on 3/4 or 19mm bolts hope they take it ok

    Now have the head back on, in place at least but I'm not sure of the head bolts torque, is it 65 for the 19mm bolts or 75. Everything looks ok, no major scoring on either face so lets hope eh.

    Heads off and have had the core plug replaced as it had a 2 or 3 mm diameter hole, just wear and tare from age and the passing of water. £14.00 for head gasket and rocker cover gasket plus a few other bits so far not to bad. Start cleaning surfaces tomorrow and try to remember how to put it...

    Right Just spoken to James Tennants and he seems to think that the easiest way is to remove the head and drift in a new core plug that way. So off to work I go more later...... Never had a head off before so this should be interesting. 11.00am

    Had to do mine this year for MOT and found it quite easy, used ratchet straps to carry weight of body then bolted the four body mounts back into place then slid the quarter chassis into place and hey presto. Only thing was the bumpers on the corners were already welded and the mud flap bars...
