I have 2.25 petrol and after replacing rear x member it now regually pulls an old williams horsebox with two biguns aboard. Although only about 8 or 9 miles in each direction. It also copes well with the daily commute to and from work and is easily fixed by myself when things do go pearshaped...

So is it any good after breeding or do you still need a phlegmy spot as well, either that or just brake its legs in the first place

sounds like it might be a head gasket problem, pressurizing the block, any water leaks or creamy gunge in head??

One job leads to another, then another but its good to have a project to work with and theres always help available, paddocks good and cheap and you cant beat finding someone local for parts just incase of emergencies, Good luck.
