With 3 valves per cylinder that's a 90 - is a 110 3.6 valves per cyl?

So the 200 comes from a multiplication of cylinders and valves - that's blummin clevva. So the 300tdi has 3 valves per cylinder?

Or don't drive into in the first place? And if you've driven into an icy pool at Fox Covert (Daft's nemesis) don't go back for another go to churn it up? Controversial mebbe? But the Plain isn't a pay and play site.

The transfer box ratios are nice and high on these for sensible cruising and economy - my V8 is Overfinched with gearing to make it rev and a set of revised shift points to use the revs. Not fast as in car fast, by fast as in Defender fast.

Have you driven a Defender with the GM V8? I have and think its orrible - way too heavy at the front end. The gearing has to be so high to reach 70 mph its a slug as soon as it hits a hill. Fast its not, off its road better, but the weight over the front axle kills the advantage.

To be fair its a Borg Warner 13-61-004, the case is the same as a 44-62, same epicyclic reduction set, same chain, same viscous unit. Its not an LT230 tsk. Fair play. But I always assumed that anything that allowed differential motion could legitimately be called a diff.

Stop overthinking it - the P38 has a centre diff. If you take the front prop off a P38 or RRC with the Borg-Warner box drive goes to the rear. Just because you can't work out how it works, doesn't mean it can't. I can't be bothered to explain the rest.
