    Freelander gussling water

As Manta says, could be any number of things. Check hose connections in particular, for white powdery deposits. This can indicate coolant escaping under pressure, the antifreeze leaves behind this tell tale sign. Running your heater won't cause an icing problem. If you have aircon, run that...

    Discs and pads change

Never skimp on safety critical parts, ditto what Singvogel said re EBC parts. Only try it yourself if you feel confident, NEVER use the jack on its own. (emergency wheel change only). You can get velcro tape, great for when you need to hang stuff out of the way, or as a temp fix on things...

    Words fail me!!!

Check out the colour, mmmmm wonder if it sounds like a Golf and goes like a Golf. Where is a pic of the stupid guy in the advert trying to flog cars. He didn't say heads turn towards him or away away.... I suspect the latter. Don't forget as well, it is a rare sight to see a petrol...

:welcome2: Also to owning a Freelander, hope you have deep pockets. They consume money like they consume fuel. I find mine annoyingly compulsive, my bank manager finds my compulsion annoying!

New MOT rules in January 2012 – much more than I thought.

I was in Italy not so long ago, I just happened to notice the appalling condition of quite a few older cars, to get your avarage plod over here rather worked up to say the least. The answer when asked " how do you get that through the regular inspection revisione" (This is every two years) I...

    Help needed asap *Please*

It sounds like something heating up if it takes a mile or so to start performing. It is possible that your nearside brake disc is warped, the pads just about touch the discs and friction produces heat and causes parts to expand, that could cause the disc to make contact with the back plate. It...

    Freelander 1 exterior plastics colour...

I have just refurbished the faded exterior grey plastic on my Red 2001 model. Brought two 500ml tins of back to black simoniz and sprayed the lot. A bit of elbow grease to rub in, and I now have dark almost black plastic that looks better than new for under tenner. I think it will have to be...

    Freelander gussling water

Spot on Freeladdy, it's attention to detail like bleeding the cooling system properly, ensuring the jigglevalve is free, and using the correct coolant (pink stuff in my case) as a first step to another HGF prevention. Many peeps have had a replacement HG fitted, dont' use new stretch bolts or...

    tyres

Airseal is enviromentally friendly, simply washes away with water when you take off the tyre. The product provides a permanant puncture repair when exposed to air, so you wont need to get a patch or a plug. As long as you check your tyres regular, and remove any embedded objects, (cos with...

Long term Land Rover owner, user and fan. Looking forward to the banter and tall tales as well as sharing knowledge. I use Airseal in mine, cost £10 a corner, also a different brand called ultraseal is out there, works a treat. Wife and Son's cars also have it in and used this or similar in my Harley for the past 15 years. Google both Airseal and Ultraseal and also check out u tube. Great videos shows you...

Been through the HGF with my 1.8 Freelander last year, as long as you get the head checked and skimmed if needed, (most do), new stretch bolts, oil ladder and MLS head gasket as reccomended by Land Rover. At the same time check and replace timing belt and fit a new waterpump whilst it is...
