    Look back at the claim last year, chap had just had an MOT, and was hit by a transit, took him around six months I think, insurance company said a new gear box etc etc, really good thread too. Stick at it , as it wasn't your fault and you shouldn't beat a loss.....

    Evening all, I've taken the above off, and removed the old bushes ( fooking) pain, pics to follow. Now I'm left with a metal ring inside , does this stay, or does it need removing ? Btw, with a blow tourch the inner ring comes flying out which was a surprise....

    Yep would say its the pistons sticking, have the same problem on mine. The inside pad is shot, I would take the calliper off, clean it up and fit new seals and piston. Mine is off the road awaiting some sunshine so I can fit new discs and re furbished callipers. Did you ever find rear pulling...

    How long should a Defender battry last

    As shifty said, check all connections at the battery ! My van battery light came on, caused by the earth connection being only finger tight, this was enough to drain the battery! My ninety has sat for weeks not being used, but starts on the button !(tempting fate now)

    Chezvegas will give that a go, I'm quickly loosing the will to live here! The spade on the ignition barrel does feel loose, maybe that's causing the issue with no power to the exciter?

    Norfolk mick, earth is ok and yes can jump direct from the battery, but nothing coming from back of ignition barrel, so points to fault with barrel I guess !
