    Land Rover Defender Starting Problem

Had the same problem on a Focarse, bummer to start but ran like a dream, changed injectors as they were shot, but never got to the real problem of air in the system, so traded it in and got a new one!! Sorry it doesn't help!

    200tdi faulty starter motor

I too read it was a barstuard of a job, but mine cleared the manifold just, (200tdi) so persevere with removal BEFORE taking manifold off!

    Handbreak cable issue

From memory, aren't there two cams inside that can slip out ? I had a pain sorting mine out, strip it down and check it all is in order, cams must only go in one direction.... Not much help but better than not !

    My 90 300tdi rebuild

Just keep persevering with that nut, plenty of WD ! It took me three visits to remove mine, in the end it unscrewed really easily. I'm waiting for warmer weather to start my project, chassis needs welding in quite a few places, bulkhead realigning and hard top going on, looking forward to seeing...

    Intermittent starting problem

Could just be the ignition barrel, the terminals work lose, so one minute it's fine, next its not. Happened to me, twenty squids for a new one, don't forget the little grub screw in the barrel.

    Starting problem

Had the same problem, one terminal was loose and caused your problem, don't lose the little grub screw though!

Need help my landy will not start!!!

It could also be that the exciter wire is loose, thin wire to the starter. I also had a similar problem, not distance related, but would start one morning, drive two miles up the road, leave for half an hour then it would take several attempts to start, it turned out to be the ignition barrel...

    Defender door seals

Exactly the same happened to me on the passenger side, er indoors sits there, so not too fussed ! Made the big mistake of doing it in the winter, the seals are not too plyable when it's cold.

    Axle casing rust

    Kids in bed early then...!

    Need your opinions please

Take a big hammer and don't be afraid to use it, the chassis rust can be easily hidden with underseal etc, so give it a good going over, if the owner isn't keen, then 0 1 2 1 do one ! Makes you wonder why it's been re-listed. Rick.

A frame and rear radius arm.

Thanks for the replies, I needn't have bothered cleaning out the rubber remains now ! Trying to keep all the parts that are serviceable, fulcrum may well be the only thing I will need, castle nut will not move, and as tub is coming off, I will just grind the nut off. Using poly bushes now, so...
