    Top railko bush in swivel

Got it in, used 32 mm socket as a drift and with the help of some wd40 it moved a bit easier. measured it all the way round and it seems pretty square. Preload checked and shimmed and all assembled. Just noticed that my stub axle seems to have a bronze bush on the inner face - next problem is...

    Top railko bush in swivel

Ok thanks, for some reason the new bush is about 5mm longer than the old one. It definitely needs drifting in its very very tight

LT230 1.003 Tfer Box input gear

I need to replace the input gear on my tfer box (as per above), just did a search which suggests that it is not as easy to remove on the 1.003 ratio box as it is on the defender 1.41 and 1.667 ratio ones. Does anyone know what the difference is?

    Land rover 90 brake problems

If its a 1988 90 you should have drums on the back not calipers? If you do have drums on the back, check that the brake shoes are the right way round - (they are handed) - if they have been mixed up they can't be adjusted properly and you'll get long pedal travel. Ad

    Electrical question

Dismantle the whole thing, clean, grease and reassemble. Theres an o ring on the end of the driven shaft that wears, letting water in and rust develops and seizes it up. Worth the effort as they are pricey to replace

    Rear axle breather

Can some kind soul tell me where the rear axle breather pipe should go to on a 110, mines just been dangling around for ages. I want to get it higher up it would take miles of tube to get it to the engine bay. Ad

    Fuel Problem

My 110 used to run out between1/4 and the red, and sometimes above 1/4 when i got stuck on steep angles when off roading. Replaced fuel tank and sender unit and its sorted, i think the pick up pipe had a hole in it so air was being drawn in when fuel was low. Ad

    Does anyone know GBB 27C?

Sounds good. Be careful if you plan to go off road, engines from cars often don't have sealed timing cases or bellhousings and are not suitable for playing around in muddy water. Unfortunately I learned the hard way.......

    Indicator hazard light problem.

Could be dodgy hazard switch, very common problem on old landies. i had problems with my hazards and indicators, turned out to be that switch, the plastic breaks down and cracks after about 20 years and the contacts don't work properly.

    1st time on Salisbury Plain

Few of us did a trip there just before christmas, great day out. OS Landranger map 184 is the map you'll need but once you get onto the plain it gets quite hard to follow on the map as theres so many tracks, satnav probably the best way to locate exactly where you are at any point in time...

Pilgrims way, Saturday 2nd Nov, see map location below. I reckon it would take a while to clear all that it was massive.

+2" shocks - but standard springs

My coil sprung lightweight had a 2" lift on it when i bought it, loads of clearance but the handling and steering were awful. I swapped the springs for normal height but left the shockers on, works a treat, solved the handling and you get better articulation. Best to fit dislocation cones...

Hopefully they will have cleared it a bit now, when i did it couple weeks back several of the lanes were blocked by fallen trees. 03hughj - I am in Rochester, give me a shout and i can show you some of the local byways, many of them are closed or have TRO's so you need to know the right ones.

    Hows got this set up

I found the same when i put disco tranny in my 110 running 7.50 x 16, gearing is a bit high specially noticeable in 1st/2nd high range. Better off keeping the standard one. Might be less noticeable in a 90 with the lower weight.
