I have not done the timing chain. Smoke was white, maybe getting a little toward grey. Battery is charging at the moment, was thinking of advancing the pump slightley and giving it a go.

When i just tried turning it over, it sounds like its going to shake the car apart!

Well it runs, sort of. Bled her all up and got it going, cloud of smoke and no power when i tried to move it. Left it running for a while then cracked injector pipes again to get rid of any remaining air. Then after running for a few minutes, it just died and now wont go again? Plenty of...

First of all i know that land rover locks are rubbish and they are not really secure, but... I've been thinking of swapping the rear door for a tail gate and cat flat type affair, but i was wondering if they offer the same level of protection from break ins as a rear door, or are they even...

All assembled with a new fuel pipe. When turning over it sounds like the engine is running, all be it not quite at full whack so i presume just air in the system or tweak injector pump timing to get it going.

Replaced a fuel pipe, now waiting for someone to come home to help me bleed the fuel system properly!

Fuel system is all back together. Unfortunally i have a feeling that the very dodgey join in the fuel pipe at the tank end is letting air in, so i'm going to have to replace that before i go any further. Turning it over sounded promising though!

Craddocks are trying to screw me over getting the surcharge back on the pump due to the holes on the one i sent them being modified or something. Thankfully i've got another one i can send them. I want the £240 surcharge back! I'll have to get on the phone to them about them paying for fixing...

I know that now! Hopefully this will be the end of getting the engine back up and going!

I havent got the injectors fitted so a picture wont help, but i'll try to explain. The spill rail attatches to all 4 injectors, on the 4th injector a pipe attatches to the top which then goes to the top of the fuel filter. A pipe attatches to the end of the spill rail and goes to the fuel tank...

I also intend on sending Craddocks the bill for the work on the pump, seen as they sold me it as a recon unit 6 weeks ago!

I've had the pump and the injectors tested. The injectors needed new nozzles, they said they were completley destroyed. I managed to source another set so i've got a full set of injectors that have been reconned and tested to make sure they work. When they tried to test the pump, they said...

I will get this engine working again. Its a good old workhorse and i do need it back on the road!

Will do, i'm not giving up on this landy. The chassis is in good nick and so is the bulkhead. The only problems i've ever had with it is this sodding engine!

the pump can go for testing with the injectors just to make sure. Also going to remake all the fuel lines while i'm at it, just in case theres any holes even though i don't think there is. And a new fuel filter.

Theres fuel coming out of the pump but nowt from the injector. Digger is gone but i've got nothing to tow start it with! Just been told about a place that'll have a look at the injectors from another landy owner so i'll have to take them in.

well there doesnt seem to be any fuel coming out of the injectors... Which seems odd as i have white smoke out the back end when i crank it?

Check them all at once or one by one? ie have 3 still in the block and one out to test or just have them all out to test at once?
