Hi i have a problem with my rangie ( 4.6 1999) irratic rpm , what would the symptoms be if the maf or throttle sensor have bust would it be erratic rpm. ps i have looked and there are know split pipes that i can see. :confused:

Hi all i have a 4.6 ,thor engine, 1999 p38 when i am de accelerating the rpm gets to about 1,000 rpm then it goes up to about 1,200 rpm on its own then back down to 850 ish, it also feels like its on choke as the rpm does not drop to 850 ish in gear but out of gear its ok. ps it has lpg...

Hi my p38s instruments panel lights where it shows the milage and what gear you are in, has gone out but only on the left side , can you replace a bulb or do i have to replace the whole lot ????? .:confused:

hello everyone , i have just had a new engine put in my p38 {4.6 1999} . shell oil was put in {fully synthetic} but but i want to change the oil but which one would anyone recomend as there are so many. ???? :confused::confused:

Hi mate i have a p38 also a 4.6 on gas and i use bell automotive who are based in queensferry in flintshire , they are v/good and very reasonable in price, give them a call and ask for graham hes the owner and knows what hes talking about. the number is 01244-813321. hope it helps Don.

Hi tiny like you i have a 4.6 on lpg {1999} and exactly the same happened and yep it was the dredded slipped liner so new block with the top hat liners done was put in as well as a new cam, timing chain, rad etc , i know it wasnt cheap but what a pleasure to drive now nowing everything has been...

Hi mate ive had a new engine and i noticed some s??t the same as yours, it does look like some sort of additive ,kseal,etc, best bet get a new radiator so you know its right.

Hi i ve used irontite about 18 months ago it worked up until 19 th of july 2011 then yep you gest it the liner/s slipped , 4 days before hols, well iwanted to keep the beast so i ve had the whole engine done , new top hat block etc etc but try irontite but if you keep the car expect the engine...

Hi ive used irontite about 2 1/2 years ago but on 19th of aug my engine overheated , had it checked and found out the liners had slipped, aah , know harm in trying it but be prepared for the inevatable. ps my rangie is a 4.6 1999 on lpg as well. good luck.
