So no immobilizer, electric windows, EGR unit etc? Sounds great too me!

I have a 300 TDI disco and am thinking of upgrading (?) to a Defender 300 TDI. When my Disco has a problem it always seems to be something to do with the electrics/computers/immobilizer etc. Or rust! My spannering skills are far better than my computer diognoistic silks so maybe now is the...

I always thought that if you could fetel the gears on a mountain bike then you could do pretty much anything on a series motor, especially if you had a parts and repair manual...not Haynes but the original Land Rover one.

Its a real pain this one, you've got all that working space but no access to it. Unless its an up and over garage door that you can replace with standard one then try flattening your tyres up might get in.!

Yes it's not surprising that metric is preferred now, but stick with AF single hex sockets, a set of scanners, a hub box spanner and various screw drivers and you should be able to do most things on a series land rover...

This is a glow plug quesion: Is the glow plug timer unit the same as the glow plug control unit? If not where is the timer unit located on a Disco1? Also what and where is the cold start advance unit? Ok thats three dumb questions

Whey hey here we go! Have been floating around this forum since buying my Disco 300tdi, so expect lots of tech questions. Before the disco i had a series 3 109 station wagon and at the moment I am trying not to buy another 109 but will proably fail!:D
