    ticking 200tdi

I had exactly the same from mine. Was the cyl head gasket right at the back of the engine tight up to the bulkhead. Was blowing from cyl straight out hence no noticable oil or water issues.Just feel right round the back of the block where cyl head meets main block and you can feel it blowing if it...

    Snorkel question

Its to the front of the air box just under the output pipe. Its made of soft rubber with a small slit in it to allow water to drip out. Well it is on mine anyway.

    Snorkel question

Aint there a sort of one way drain on the base of the main airfilter housing so wouldnt of thought a bit of rain would cause an issue.

    wandering disco

Could it be something on the rear suspension gone such as a frame ball joint. I know when mine started to go it gave a sort of disconnected feeling to the ride if you get my meaning.

    Smoke test FAIL

I have been told that changing fuel filter and filling it with injector cleaner often works. Just let it idle for ten mins then a good run with no need to hammer it.

    Smoke test FAIL

The tick over is about 800-900 . What is causing the smoke is it too much fuel for the air input ie uncombusted fuel.

Ok cheers. I dont get what you mean by torque the bolts twice at 40 nm (me being dense prob) and what down pipe do you mean. Will need to get all the crud off the engine first before i can even spot a brass plug (new rocker gasket going on as well).
