What is super critical - is the engine thremostat.... my mpg went from 36mpg to low 40's simply by changing a knackered thermostat. The high pressures in tyres help giving approx 2 mpg more.....Hankooks are wearing brilliantly have done 30k on then and still 6mm tread left!!! Synergy is on...

Hi SES88, The elbow I am refering to is the convoluted pipe leading to the EGR ..... it is all plastic with a really nasty restriction just befor the EGR. It involves some carving..... but is easy to do and really helps torque. Also the really crap inlet from wheel arch is very restrictive...

Hi just thought i would report back - have just fitted large intercooler to TD4 :violent:....... 300x600x75mm ..... this was a very tight fit. Kept driverside feed position but had to redrill passenger side just under headlight. Was it wiorth it ...I think so... some surprising effects were...

Hi just replaced thermostat wow 43mpg regularly. Infact I can do over 300 miles on 1/2 a tank indicated on guage!!! I am getting around 475miles on a tank 11.1 gallons. Freelander 1 145k miles Roverron on max, egr bypass, K&N and restriction bypass in intake and decat.

Been runnig mine for 12 months or so now with 300ml of 2 stroke...... defo running far better .... I'm sure this does a great job replacing sulpher lubricant that has now been virtually removed from diesel. Long live the injectors!!!

Replaced mine as it was rock solid..........when I was turning at low speed it would almost bring the car to a grinding hault........and reverse hard over was worse. Mine had done 105k. I have phone Freelander Spares Uk who are looking into it ....... but I don't hold out much hope. Richard

Hi I think AJM is right ....with a fully funxctioning VCU giving a reasonable torque split.... my little truch should have scrabbled up the slope. Situation was fronts sank into ground by approx 4 inch and the backs about 3 inches ..... at which point if sat there spinning the front wheels ...
