Unfortunately, you have had the car too long to force the dealer's hand too much especially as you have problems with wear & tear items (exhaust and bush).
The Sale of Goods Act is the relevant legislation here but unfortunately it has some get out clauses for dealers:
"If a secondhand vehicle...
You must try a new stereo with the original speakers first. In most cars a better head unit makes a huge difference to the quality of the sound that you get through the factory speakers. Only once you are satisfied that a new head unit alone is not enough is it worth buggering about with the...
I'd try opening the rear tailgate window if I was you. Creates a nice extra bit of draught ;)
Actually, my Freelander never seems to get that hot. Even taking into account this summer's been rubbish I have only had the air con on once or twice a week at most...

I've done several 200+ mile journeys and a couple of 500+ mile days in my Freelander and never had any problems with comfort. Therefore, based on my experience and stature, you're obviously either too tall or too thin...

So, is the general consensus that cheapies are a false economy?
Also, are the stories of bad tyre choices busting VCUs, etc true or scare mongering?

Have had a BMW, two VWs and a Nissan in the past. All reputable reliable marques. All broke during the time I owned them. Only car I have owned that never broke was a Renault and they're supposed to be rubbish...

EU legislation means that you don't have to get your car serviced by a main dealer. However, it needs to be a VAT registered garage and they need to follow mfg servicing schedule and use genuine parts to keep full warranty intact. Get service book stamp AND invoice. Some mfgs won't accept a...
I was planning on doing a very simple and short bit of greenlaning and found a short lane less than a mile from home and about half a mile long. Basically straight along the edge of a field on the edge of town.
Checked on Wayfinder and lane exists and is listed as BOAT. Checked Ordnance...
Fingers crossed it's just lost a bit of coolant from somewhere other than the head then. Just keep a very close eye on the coolant level until your garage can have a look!

Sounds suspiciously like a head gasket failure unfortunately. Do a search on the forums and you will find plenty of tips os what to look for a specifically check that will confirm this.
Main things to look for are temp gauge rises (which you have) and loss of coolant (which you have)...
Sounds normal. The fans always sound very loud when the engine's off. For your piece of mind no harm taking it back to the dealer for a check.

I love wheels that colour. I used to have a Fiat Abarth with the same colour wheels on a silver car. Looked great. Brake dust doesn't immediately spoil them after cleaning either!

Two main reasons for fitting lights guards:
1. Offer some protection to the lights
2. Some people (including me!) like the look of a 4x4 with light guards on. It's a style thing y'know

Have you complained to them about this? They are responsible (and should be insured) for negligent damage to customer's cars. They should cough up for any repairs.

You don't say what size tyres/wheels you're on. My Freelie is on 235/60/16s and it handles pretty well. Grip is very good. It rolls a little bit on roundabouts but that's the high centre of gravity and soft-ish suspension.
