    Spark Plugs Socket

I've heard of it being done on a KV6 using an extension on the spark plug socket and with no need to remove the manifold. Never done it myself though... Cheers Rog

    Freelander surgery.

Air con can drip for days. Depends on ambient temperature, moisture levels, angle of vehicle when parked, etc, etc. Sample a drip (bit of white kitchen towel is good). Air con drips are just water so should be completely clear, clean and odour free. As Shutty says, if you looks, feels or...

    petrol or diesel

The orginal diesel (called various things by different people but badged as Di, XDi, XEDi, etc) was the orginal engine put in the Freelander when LR was still part of Rover. When BMW took over at LR the TD4 which was derived from the engine found in the BMW 320d was used instead. This was when...

    Brake Light Switch

The RAVE CD shows a brake light switch and a brake light sense switch. I have been sent the brake light sense switch. Is this the right one to replace to fix the TC/HDC warning light problem? Cheers Rog

pat on the back, you guys

I had exactly the same on a Mondeo last year. I even changed the nsr wheel bearing I was so convinced that was the problem. A couple of weeks after changing this I needed new tyres anyway and guess what - Noise gone. Was glad I bought the bearing cheap off eBay and fitted it myself or I would...

    Brake Light Switch

Just got the brake light switch through from Rimmer Bros to sort my (very) infrequent TC/HDC lights coming on. However, when I compare the switch to the one on RAVE it looks like they have sent me the brake pedal sensor not the switch. Is this what I need or have they got it wrong? It only...

    TD4 Consumption

My 2003 TD4 manual comfortably does 500 miles from every tank. That's about 39mpg on average by my reckoning. Mostly to and from work with a mix of dual carriageways and urban roads. Does help that I work shifts and rarely travel in the rush hour. Cheers Rog

    trouble with abs

Hello mate It's likely to be an ABS sensor playing up. Could also be your brake light switch helping to confuse things too. As for fitting, there are people on this forum who will no doubt help you with that question. But also, do a search on here you will find this has all been well...

    Rough running freelander

My TD4 is very quiet and still pulls like a train at 90mph. Have had 110 out of it on the flat & felt like it still had more. Solution to your problem - Get a TD4. Cheers Rog (Sorry, just back from the pub - about as helpful as I'm likely to get...)

Considering buying a '05 but this forum puts me off!

The X-Trail diesel is noisy, rattly and thristy. I had a 2003 X-Trail diesel immediately before I bought my Freelander and the difference is amazing. The Freelander is quieter, smoother and rides much better. Handling is about the same. Also, the Nissan has no cloth surfaces inside (the...
