I thought that adding 2-stroke oil to diesel was not recommended anymore? Modern fuel has other lubricants that does that job? But I might be mistaken, of course. :)

    Tinted windows

Did mine myself. Good quality film, I used 3M, and a lot of time, you should get a decent result. Took me around 6 hours to finish all 5 windows. Lots of water and heat gun action to get the result I wanted. :) Good enough for a old car. :)

    Freelander Rear Badge Upgrade

I would be very interested in a new rear badge myself! All other badges have been changed to black/silver ones, except the one at the rear. "expensivelander" in black and silver, that would look great!:)

What have you done to your Freelander today

Bought a set of "new" winter tyres as the old ones was a bit worn.. Only used half a season, the rims are not very nice, but good enough for winter tyres. :) The Expensivelander is still stationary due to he cam belt issue though, hope to have it fixed soon. Most of the parts have now...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Well, good news and bad news. The good news is that i now knows which belt tensioner that had a strange noise, the bad news is that the alternator belt snapped, got lodged onto the timing belt causing it to slip a tooth or four = valve says hello to the piston.. Was on my way to a friends...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Today I have tinted the rear windows, changed the two faulty AC orings and had the system recharged (only to find another major leak, I did not need an UV light to find this one). Also got rid of the nasty rear speakers for a set of Pioneers that have been sitting in the shed for a year. (Onyl...

    AC leak, DIY or not?

Well spotted Sir. However, the cable tie was used after the AC stopped working, and only for a few minutes when fixing a broken bracket for the PAS.. (Which is when I took these pictures.. :) ) I have had the system degassed and got the Orings out. The larger one seem to be where the leak...

Don't know, the weather does not get that bad here on the west coast.. ;) Complete new wires, switch in the cockpit and power directly from the battery. :)

What have you done to your Freelander today

Fitted some extra lights to the rear for reversing in the dark Norwegian winters. Also fitted a chrome exhaust finisher, a bit chav, I know, but I do like it.

    AC leak, DIY or not?

Cheers Matt. I'll have a go. As long as the system is empty, I can't really see why I can tinker with it. :) I'll report back to you guys.

    AC leak, DIY or not?

    AC leak, DIY or not?

According to the last owner, it did work until 2012, so it's not been out of service for years. In addition, Found no other leaks with the uv light, only the o rings. Is it a serviceable part as long as I get the garage to evacuate all the gas?

    Sunroof

    AC leak, DIY or not?

Hello all! The AC in my 01 Freelander have not worked since I bought it. A couple of weeks ago, I got i refilled by a local garage, no major leaks, the machine did not detect anything, and the system worked fine after det regas. (50grams). I do understand that it coult very well build a vaccum...

    Greying bumpers etc

Bought it local here in Norway, I would search ebay for "black bumper shine" or something similar, also uses a turtle wax "something", as others have mentioned before, same effect.

    K series overheating

I had a similar problem. Coolant kept leaking out, if I did not drive with the heater on full, the water would boil back into the tank. It was due to a series of things (I think). Changed the thermostat, but when I testet the old one, it did seem to work perfect. Changed the inletm. gasket...

    Greying bumpers etc

I also used something called black bumper restorer or something similar. It was later I discovered that the bumpers left the factory in grey.. They are black now though. ;)
