    The fuel is drawn up a copper pipe and into a union that an 8mm fuel hose is then connected to. The hose is about 70cm long, which then connects to the fuel pump which I’ve mounted under the rear tub on the rear chassis rail.     Hi all - thanks for the replies! Paul - Fuel is brand new, have got a Mapassi Filterking which seems to work ok, but am going to purchase some service parts for it just to make sure. Fuel pick up seems to be ok too - taking the hose off just before the carbs and it spurts out pretty swiftly...

    Flow seems ok in the engine bay: see video below! Tried folding the fuel pump tube that feeds the filter ( to presumably create a “primed” system) and the pump keeps pumping at the same rate. Would a better fuel pump be advised? It’s a non standRd fuel tank so I think I I’d need something...

    No not yet. I only took delivery of it at 4 pm today so haven’t had much time. I know the chap who had it before me relatively recently replaced all 8 of the plugs though. If I take one out and have a look at the ends, what am I looking for? Black/soot/ carbon build up?

    Well I tested the alternator by measuring the voltage increase across the battery, which I think is the right way? The battery was at 12.7 with ignition off, and pretty much identical with engine running. I was expecting a voltage of about 14 ish right?
