Guess its just the bog standard 4 speed landy Series Box.. Twas a big panel at the back of the box with a (Large) drain plug, took this off after draining the oil, all looked nice inside, no filings etc. Smaller drain plug nearer the front again nothing in oil, but cant get inside that bit...

Well drained the oil tonight, not a lot in it.. But what was there was clean, nothing came out, rubbing oil between finger and thumb it does not feel gritty or anything... So... Do i refill and hope for the best (I do have a spare box but its an unknown one) Or is there any panels I...

I know the passenger side is well and truly rotton, I did weld a couple of plates in 'to do' so to speak, but to my eyes the foots wells just unbolt.... Yeah I know, it aint gonna be that simple, its a bloody Land Rover... Right tools.... Large Hammer Bigger Hammer Angle grinder Welder...

Seems to me the old footwells are pretty much a unbolt job, rather than a cut and shut jobby.....

If the mileage is so low, every thing should be mechanically sounds, so would the better option be to go for a new chassis, and just swap every thing over....... :confused:

I did think of welding it up, BUT for the price of a new footwell that can be treated to any number of anti rust agents, I thought I would just replace em and have done with it....:rolleyes:

Got a new pair of footwells for Candy.... Nearside looks easy enough to do, but the offside has pedals, is there a direct way of doing without taking brakes/clutch etc apart?? Now fully booked for the London to Brighton, so hopefully the new footwells will keep water out/heat...
