On the back of the Landy Alt there are 3 spades, top and middle are large ones, lower one is the small spade.. I take it the small one is for dash light, but which of the large ones goes to the battery?? And will it run and charge Ok using just the 2 wires?? Daihatsu Alt and reg are...

Speedo on mine bounces all over the place and also running over size tyres (265x85x16), so not too sure on top speed. But can overtake wagons on the Mway now so its over 55 mph...:D

Just put a 2.8TD Daihatsu lump in mine.... Instead of doing 27 mph up Detling Hill (Coastbound) with a 2.5 NA lump. She goes up in top gear at 50mph, and Im running oversize tyres... :p Roll on fitting the Overdrive.

Been round the scrappys, cant get a reg at all....:mad: Daihatsu use a seperate reg, unlike LR that use the reg in the alt. Daihatsu alt has a oil feed to it as it also houses the vac pump, so methinks i am going to get a bypass hose made up and then fit the Landy alt. BUT the pulley is too...

Tried two testers on it, both say the same. It was fine before the fan ripped the rad. Now when running ALL the lights appear really bright, even the dash warning lights etc. Methinks the voltage reg is the most likely cause so will change that today and see how it goes...
