If im laning and using no revs in very cold weather, my temp guage also goes down, well it did in my old Disco, not tried it in the newer one yet..:welcome2:

Yes, just go into local Land Rover main stealer, and ask for locking key no 5, you will need to take the Landy with you as there are two typs of key, the main dealer one and an after market version, both are different, so check before you buy, only about £5

Having just had to buy a new battery for the Disco, I then found the reciept for the old battery that was still under warrenty from Halfrauds, they dont refund just give a new battery, so now have 2 new batteries. With the winch on the front, plus wanting extra lights, I thought maybe fit both...

Took my 96 300tdi for its MOT this morning, never even bothered looking at it, huge crack in the windscreen, so knew it would fail, was waiting for the long list of dangerous faults so I could run home show the missus, then go buy a Defender..... List of faults Cracked Windscreen OS sidelight...

I have moved 130 tons of locomotive at the preserved railwaythat I have done work at, level ground bit of a struggle to get going, but once moving its OK.

IF you got the battery from Halfrauds, it will be the battery, I had two in quick succesion from them, one for the Disco and one for the Toyota Avensis, both were crap and would not hold a charge if left for a week......:doh:

Symptons he describes is a classic glow plug problem, even one not working will cause starting difficulty...

Dunno if anyone can help... I need a small part for a Disco 300 tdi (96) On the injectors is a small part with the fuel return line attached, I need that part with the in and out pipe on.... Anyone help us out please??:):):)

try Bobbing Car breakers near Sittingbourne, they normally have a couple of Discos in, also the odd Series as well....

Twas a great time, really enjoyed, esp as it was first time out for me, with you guys, with me one week old Disco (Ive only owned it a week) that was gleaming when i started, but now she is one of only 3 Discos in the Country with a certain scratch down the near side, band of brothers eh...

Get one of those flouresant (sp) strip lights in a Caravan shop, usualy 1 or 2 tubes about 12" long, these have a switch in them, hard wire em to car and use the switch, they are bright as well....

Just did a trip of 300 miles while moving from Kent to Treuddyn in North Wales, used about 50 litres of juice, all A roads, seemed to be economical, im too thick to work out the mpg on that...... Series 3 fitted with a Daihatsu 2.8 TD, Overdrive, and 235/65x16's. Stayed about 50 mph max...

I had to remove the heater matrix in mine to fit the Diahatsu TD lump, turbo sits where the matrix should be..... I find after a while im so cold I dont feel cold.....:o

As Mikebeetle said, chassis and bulkhead, if these are rotton then its big cash.... After that, sort out engine, after doing oil and water change, plus filters, then get it going, once thats sorted do the gearbox and diff oils... If you cant get it going, why not? engine shagged? Easy and...

Anybody know anything the Series that was in this programme?? Twas all kitted out as a mobile kitchen, is it still on the road?? I know it was based in Dorset.....:D :rolleyes:

You know, I can change/strip and rebuild any engine..... But delving into a gearbox fills me with terror!!:o :o Never done one, and am loathe to start, visions of springs, clips, bearings and cogs all falling out onto the floor puts the fear of God into me......:eek:

Just changed the shoes and springs on mine, fine before, now pulls to the right and squeals like a pig.. Stripped em down twice, adjusted em 3 times, chamfered leading edges of the shoes and still no difference, yet they were spot on before?????
