    On short bounds with a manual box I would say mid 30's would be decent enough ;0) I think if I took this down to the south coast I would get 500 miles out of the tank.

    Hi again fellas...... Yeah that's a point I am probably only doing 60 mph on long runs!!!! I would say I am doing a mix of long journeys on the motorway of up to 20 miles at a constant 60 and short bounds of 5-8 miles at varying speeds so I think maybe I am not doing too bad.

    Yeah I think around 65 is where I get the best mpg but still think I am only getting mid 30's to the gallon. Just wondering if the injectors could be at fault?

    Just to clarify the one wheel up test would see a good/healthy VCU return a drop time of around 15-18 seconds so I am told ;)

    Jack up one side of the FL (both front and rear wheels) spin the front wheel and the rear should rotate too as I understand. This should prove that your IRD is functioning and intact. If both wheels don't spin = IRD problem. Also do the 1 wheel up test. My FL had a Beaumont recon VCU fitted...

    Already got one that goes from about 80nm-400nm but need to get a smaller one 10-30 would be ideal. Nearly came a cropper doing the manifold clean!!!! Will defo be asking here for advice before doing anything. ;)

    If you can't leave it to soak (like me.... I had 3 hrs to get it done) Petrol and a Karcher is the only way forward!!!! Slapped it on top of the kitchen radiator for 30mins before refitting. Just to add......all your hard work will be undone in a few months unless u do the EGR blank mod. ;)

    Agreed!! Petrol worked a treat after trying G101 (which worked ok) I used 12" zip ties attached to strips of old towel to pull through each of the manifold inlets. Oh and a Karcher pressure washer!!!! To be fair it was a right pig of a job!! One point to note..... Don't clean it in your bath...
