The 2.8 was a slightly younger engine. It had a bit more bhp, but may as you say, have had a bit less torque. Not sure. It was a cracking motor in my 2a tho. Ran it round for 7 or more years. Happy days. :)

I had a 2.5 in my last lightweight series 3. It was a simple conversion and as good as you say. Or the Ford Cologne 2.8 v6 with Steve Parker conversion plate. Had one in my series 2a and it went like the clappers, was very reliable and drank less fuel than the 2286 it replaced. Wish I still...

My other Landy, a series 11, has missed it by 8 days!! I don't care though as I would still Mot it anyway. I think this will just be open to abuse in the same way as the tax exemption was/is.

It does now! Just got this mileage discrepancy. I have noted down old mileage and new, so know what its done but not sure what I am legally obliged to do? :confused:

Does anyone know what the legalities are if your speedo is broken and you buy a secondhand one from fleabay (with different mileage obviously) and fit that? Do you just declare it at the time of your next MOT?
