    V8 Gearbox Fault Message

Whilst driving along today I got a gearbox fault message on the instrument cluster, when this happpened I felt a coupe of hiccups in the power delivery. Car is a 2002 4.6 V8 with 104k on it, I have only had it since April and have done about 1k in it, the longest journey being when I picked it...

    EAS Calibration Issues

Thanks for that, yes ground is nice and level and frim have a nice level concrete taxi way at work that I used. I intend to make some blocks up to make things easier, just not got round to get hold of some material to make them up from yet. What is the best way to set them down on the...

    EAS Calibration Issues

Wammers thanks for the response. One thing that does puzzle me a little though if it enter and write a set of sensor values to the ECU, and I then get the EAS to go to that height setting. If I then go to the heights tab of EAS unlock and use the get heights the values are not the actual...

    EAS Calibration Issues

I have be trying to calibrate the heights on the newly aquirred Range Rover as the standard height setting was a little high. I have followed the guides on here and got the settings so I was within the 470+/-7 mm for standard height. However on disconnecting and going to take the car for a...

I did something similar today, yes the snow foam is a pre wash to help remove the dirt and debris used in the detailing world as a way to lift the grit of the paint work to avoid swirling.

    HEVAC fault logging.... Nanocom....

You could always use a multimeter and measure the resistance of the sensors. I recently bought a new heater core temperature sensor and at room temp it measured 40k Ohms.

    HEAVC Faults

Update time. I managed to grab 5 minutes yesterday and removed the heater core temperature sensor and hooked it up to my DVM after leaving a little while to get to room temp in the house, it registered approx 1.4M Ohms. As the car was in for its MOT today and as I drove past the Landy dealer I...

    HEAVC Faults

No it's not as after clearing the faults on Friday I ensured the sensor was connected to the loom and also the pipe work. The fault has then come back.
  16. J

    HEAVC Faults

Yes logic does suggest if the fault code is shorted to ground the reading be close to zero ohms, will take a look in Rave thanks for the tip.

    HEAVC Faults

So I can do a basic check to rule out a wiring fault as the fault code says short to ground. Given the sensor is about 20 pounds if I can do a further test to help it is the sensor at fault then why not.

    HEAVC Faults

Just by way of an update cleared all the faults on Friday night and have had the heater core fault come back. Does anyone know the acceptable resistance figures for this sensor ?

    Thor V's Gems

I am not too surprised personally apart from the inlet differences between the two Engines. ECUs advanced quite a lot in the 1990s so quite feasible that the newer Bosch setup delivers better results.

    HEAVC Faults

Thanks for the responses, especially the info regarding the solar sensor. I have managed to pick up a new boxed solar sensor up from a Land Rover dealer for £10. My plan was to clear the faults which I have done, and then run the car for a few days and then see which faults had come back.
