    On the LPG front I have got a Y plate 4.6 running on a Zavolli system for about 18 months and runs well, not had any issues with it as yet, also got a friend running a 4.0 on a Zavolli setup he has had that 4 or so years and other than regular servicing he hasn't had any issues with it.

I don't know how easy the crank sensor is to swap on a P38 or the cost of them but if isn't too expensive and...

    I had an issue where the car in question wouldn't start after it had been stood when hot, it eventually got so bad the car wouldn't ever start so became an easy fix.

    Not sure how the Rangie works, but I know on my VW running a a Bosch ECU of a similar vintage to the ECU on a 2001 Rangie, it uses the crank sensor to continue to fire the spark plugs, and when the engine is running the fuel pump get triggered. Could it be you crank sensor is breaking down...

    Looking to do this on my lpg converted P38 as well as one of the cats is rattling. Think I am going to get a second hand set of cats and gut them, and put straight pipes in but make them still look like cats externally.

    Heater o'rings DONE

    I had a similar problem with mine when doing the O rings last year found I couldn't get it tighten enough and the thread stirpped. Found the nut and washer on the back much better made it easier to get it all aligned and tightened up.

    For referance the diameter is 22m. Found a company on Ebay who make custom alloy pipes and T pieces so ordered 2.

    I need to swap out the T pieces used to tap off the coolant circuit for my LPG conversion as they are just a little bit too small. Does anyone know what diamater the heater hoses are on a P38 so I can get the right size T. Jamie.

    Not used them for a conversion myself but how about Hylton Auto Gas just off J11 off the M6. I had my P38 converted at a place in Tamworth but they have closed now. Running a 95l tank in the spare wheel well on mine its been fine so far.

    Mis-fire

    Bosch Motronic ECU systems should run without the ECU plugged in as it is a common test for the MAF as used by the VW Audi boys when they suspect a dodgy MAF which also uses the Motronic systme of the same era as the Thor engined P38.

    If you take the lower dash panel off you should be able to see the joint of the heater matrix and the pipes to see if the o rings are leaking.

    I've got a 2001 4.6 running a Zavolli sequential LPG kit with a 95 litre tank, the car will do up to 240 miles on the motorway on LPG, and will do about 150 to 160 miles running LPG with the caravan on the back.

    Not all cars have the built in indciator for trailers though, in fact with modern cars it is more common to find that the facory wirring kits will make the indicators flash quicker if a indicator fails much the same as if a indicator bulb fails on the car.
