    Yellow button on gear stick

Don't like un-answered things like this but I cannot find an answer. One other forum suggest it's good idea for hill climb - incase you fail and have to come back down it backwards in a hurry. Also said they think it makes traction control more sensitive/quicker response. Hill Descent Control...

    Yellow button on gear stick

Hi Singvogel, Not sure, but as I remember that's what I was told by an experienced LR mechanic with many years at competition level off roading. I don't think pressing the accelerator over-rides it. I can go down a hill with some throttle and the hill decent keeps it at the "faster idle" speed...

    Yellow button on gear stick

Also works for up-hill. I was told to use it going up tracks as it detects any wheels starting to spin and puts that brake on - allowing all 4 wheels to work, rather than just spinning up one wheel. It does it much faster than you can manually and better than left foot braking.

    205 80 r16 Suspension mods or not?

I've already talked to my insurance company about the lift. They had to go away to discuss it - but said they would cover me for it and made a note in my file. I'm with elephant. But they are useless with foreign call center. Lucky for me I found they are the same company as Admiral and their...

    205 80 r16 Suspension mods or not?

plus spare - it gets expensive! I've got lift kit for mine now - waiting for weather to fit. Then I'll be tempted into bigger still.

    205 80 r16 Suspension mods or not?

I've got the 205 80 16 on mine and they fit fine without any mods. (freelander 1 pre-facelift) From the standard 215 65 16 they should give about 24mm lift. I did experiment with 225 75 16. They looked great and give an extra 29mm. But some reports on them rubbing with heavy passengers or when...

3 Amigo brake light switch replacement Guide

Update from my last post - The switch cleaner didn't work for long - it came back in a couple of days. So bought the replacement switch and wiring loom and fitted it over a week ago. Not had the problem since.:) Mine was just the 2 amigo's (TC and hill decent warning) and the break lights...

3 Amigo brake light switch replacement Guide

I had the 2 amigo's for last 2 months on and off mostly ok, just occasionally on. I put contact cleaner spray into the switch on Friday. Then went green laning on Sunday. It was worse. Lights on most of the time. I had to pump break to get the hill decent working to help with the mud. So this...

    Break down

"you prematurely wish to destroy your transmission and the risk of snapping the crank shaft, this also can be done through chipping, the max torque for the M47R is 260n but the BMW engines the max is 360n" from the Clutch/Solid flywheel option...... Oil Breather

No not inside, but just infront. Behind the injectors. May have to pull off a injector fuel return to get the filter housing off. I cannot remember if the air filter housing has to come off to get at it. You should be able to tell by taking off the top engine cover (3 bolts) If you don't have to...

Bolt just did this to me, captive part cracked off and now I cannot get the battery off. Started one job - waterproof box on my synergy so moving battery out of way. Now I've got a whole new job of trying to drill out the bolt and bodge up a bracket. These landy's keep you busy! If I drill off...

    PCV - BMW Part

I didn't modify mine - you making me worried it's not fitted right. Did you buy just the cyclone insert bit, or the whole bolt on "2 humpped" case. I got the whole part, So I'm hoping the mod is for fitting the cyclone bit into your old casing.

    Synergy II question

Trying setting 7 today after nickcc warning about injectors. Still ok to pull up hill on way to work but not as responsive from tick-over/low revs. (Have Piersburg MAF) Does anyone know if the manual or the label is correct about the settings as they disagree with each other. eg. for setting 7...

Is that a big problem? I have mine floating about near the battery and wondering if I need to put it into a dry protective box for winter to stop any condensation getting inside.

    Synergy II question

Thought I would put my times up to see if comparable. I did 4 different timings and have done a few bits so here goes. My timings are starting from a steady start speed and putting foot down until reach end speed. Rather than accelerating through the start speed. Therefore the turbo is at...
