I'm surprised but not surprised you had trouble removing the prop shaft nuts - they can be a right bugger at times Over the years I have managed to pick up a pair of thin wall ring spanners that are just perfect for the job The secret is to hold the bolt end still and try and crack the nut end...

Chatter in fifth could be a tooth stripped off the gear - is there oil in the box and what type ? Is it only 5th that it makes the noise in ? What mileage is on the car ? I would drop the sump plug and look for any bits of metal coming out with the oil and see what state and colour the oil is...

Scrapiron will do a kit for it but there are several problems 1.- They don't advertise prices so no one knows how much it will cost 2.- Whatever it does cost will be bloody expensive 3.- It's going to be orange

Sorry to hijack this thread but I have recently bought a caravan - now, I have the trailer socket wired up properly with the plug in behind the o/s rear lights but was wondering if anyone knew how to wire up the other socket - you know, the one that charges the caravan battery as you drive along...

It comes with a little module that you plug into the ECU Once fitted all you get on initial start up is one beep from the message centre and it shows "EAS MANUAL" for a second and then goes out and doesnt come back on till next time you start the car
