As mentioned above, Hippos are a pain in the a*se for air locks. I would suggest making sure that the system is bled correctly. Have a look at the proceedure below.

    Haynes Manual.....

For anyone who has ever trid to fix a car using one of these bl00dy things: How to read a Haynes manualÂ… Haynes: Rotate anticlockwise. Translation: Clamp with molegrips then beat repeatedly with hammer anticlockwise. Haynes: This is a snug fit. Translation: Clamp with molegrips then...

'AC socket'? Do you mean the 12V DC power outlet? Not aware of any AC sockets on F/Landers.

    Most milage on yer gaylander

104K on a W reg 1.8 petrol Only had it since end of Jan and paranoid everytime I start the damn thing! Failed the MOT last week on f/n/s lower ball joint and emissions. Years since I worked on motors so was just expecting a couple of bolts to replace the b/joint but oh no, why design it like...

    Cracked Gear Box

Time needed to change a VCU? You can do that during your coffee break... now, as regards an IRD just don't go making too many plans for the next couple of days! :o

    Mondo mode =2wd / 4wd

That's the point I'm making! It's only the tyres/wheels fitted to the hubs that are tested, you can carry half a dozen bald rubbers on the bonnet, rear door, inside etc and they do not have to be legal to pass the MOT.
  10. Jagman

    Mondo mode =2wd / 4wd

Yep, if it is fitted ON any of the road hubs then it is tested however if it is in the boot, or on the bonnet, roof, back door or where ever else it is kept as a spare then it DOESN'T get tested.

    Mondo mode =2wd / 4wd

So it is! I've just noticed that I don't have a location so probably I don't exist??!! Anyway, back to the MOT.... as NI is part of the UK it comes under the same MOT testing criteria so LR, if you've been refused an MOT coz of a dodgy spare, I suggest you have a 'subtle' word in...

    Mondo mode =2wd / 4wd

Where are you then LR? Presumably not in the UK? For the UK, details of what is tested is available here ===> What does a garage look at during an MOT test? : Directgov - Motoring 'Wheels and tyres - condition, security, tyre size and type, and tread depth. Spare tyres are not tested'
  13. Jagman

    Mondo mode =2wd / 4wd

There is no legal requirement to have a spare tyre and if you do it can be as bald as a coot and the vehicle can still pass an MOT as it is not an MOT item. The same goes for reversing lights by the way, if they don't work then no probs coz they ain't checked in an MOT.

    Pressure Washer Recommendations

Just a useful tip - If you are connecting it to the garden tap using your normal garden hose that has one of those 'Stop' connectors at the end i.e. the ones that allow you to remove the sprinkler and fit other attachments without having to turn the water off first, then get rid of it and...

Did I mention the US? No, I don't think I did, it must be your guilty concience? I know he discovered the Americas, now that would be what we know today as North (US and Canada), Central (Mexico etc) and South (Brazil and others) so either way he discovered what was to become the US (Part of...

And the rains fell for 40 days and 40 nights......... Noah was there looking after all those animals. You can imaging how much 'manure' built up over that time....... rear windscreen washer

This may sound a stupid question but is the water bottle full? I had the same on my recently aquired FL and went down the route of checking fuse, removing spare wheel to get to pipe etc only to find nothing wrong. I gave it up as just one of those things I'd have to live with. Then, I filled the...
