Disco is now started to get some 'extra's' as I had the LED spots from the bonnet, so decided to make up a light bar for the front bumper. I used some 3mm angle I had left over to make the frame, and got a slight offset with the sides so that it came out away from the grill, and welded on some...

Well, just over 3 weeks, and she is done, all welded up and fully serviced ready to go..... All in all, she owes me just over £670 which includes the purchase price and all the parts I have needed, which for a solid disco isn't too bad :cool:

I am 6"4 and put in bucket seats and when I fabricated the base I set the seats a little further back, so I have ample leg room ;)

A bit more work done, bumper sanded down and re-painted with new Headlight Washers fitted (as they didn't survive the transplant from one bumper to the other) and the LED spots removed from the bonnet... And a pic showing the BFG's A/T's fitted looking snug ;) Also fitted some new bump...

The bumper that was on was the original Land Rover bumper without the valance and also the plastic corners, but it was so rusted through with holes it was beyond saving, so managed to get this one that happened to be complete with the corners and lower valance. Initially it will be just driving...

Well, have been doing little bits now and then when I have some free time, and have started to weld up the rear boot floor, but managed to get a front bumper and a diff guard yesterday for next to nothing, so front bumper was straight on, just need to sand it down to remove the surface rust and...

Just got them from my local land rover parts man, but would imagine they are available from any online shop...paddocks etc and even on fleabay....just search for boot floor and loads come up. They are expensive for what you get but saves a load of time making up intricate panels

I am currently 'doing up' a Disco 300 tdi 1995 with my son, and it came with nothing in the boot, not even the floor! Boot floor is nearly all done and welded up.... so I am looking for the trim panels, rear seats, and the centre seat belts etc, and would be nice to get matching in the...

So far I am happy with the STT pro's as nice and quiet and seem to have good road manners, but only had them fitted for 2 days, so not much mileage and none off road, but first impressions are good.

Sounds promising, but to be honest, even if they are the same noise level or slightly higher than the bfg a/t's that would be brilliant, as I bought them thinking they would be noisier given they are mud treads.

Plus 2 on the boot ;)

Bfg's were 265/70/16 so I have increased the wall size slightly. Was hard to compare noise as i had tyres on the roof too....and they just need to bed in but i would think so far they are not a lot if anything more noisy than the bfg'd i had fitted, and certainly a lot quieter than other mud...

Well, have been busy working away, and slowly getting there. New bushes fitted to the rear shocks and new wheel bearing fitted at the front. Might need to change the swivel bearing on the passenger side, which is not a job I am looking forward to, as not done that before. Also, as I switched...

Well, after a long time waiting, I finally got myself some new mud tyres. After a lot of deciding I ended up with the Cooper Discoverer STT pro's that have only just been released. First impressions are very good, as nice road maners and actually very quiet - the '2 and 3' pattern they have...

Got a bit more done yesterday, as all the back and body mounts are now welded up and undersealed.... Got the rear bumper and trim back on, and after a lot of swearing got the rear door bolted on (a very hard job when working solo!) , but now have to mess on getting it all aligned on the...

I got one, and too be honest I ended up removing the spring as the steering was too heavy, but I did end up with a relocated damper ;)

Well, the strip down started at the weekend, to see exactly what I have bought. First job, strip down the rear, and take off the smashed back door and bumper.... Once off, wasn't too bad underneath, a few parts that need to be patched and welded, but nothing major, and the rear body mounts...

All done, thanks guys for the help - easy when you know how! It was a c-clip that had over time got a load of crud on it making it look like part of the metal! Also, the barrel comes out without a key, so I can now play around with the barrel to make it work with the keys I have, as per the...

Will it be a problem to get the barrel out on the new handle I got, as I don't have a key for that one??

I don't have access to a trailer to pick it up, sorry, so as it narks me to hell to say - will have to decline....as sounds ideal for parts for this one....
