All Torque - whats your angle on this?

Couldnt believe it. Been to Stoke on Trent today. Stopped in Nantwich on the way and noticed some smoke coming out the bonnet. popped the bonnet open and oily smoke coming from the rear of the soundproofing rubber on the head. Took it off and noticed oil sitting there and bubbles coming from...

Dont know about the wiring but you are right about the panel clips. I took mine off cos the back door catch is broken. only about 3 clips came out. It was abit tatty so I am thinking about getting a sheet of checker plate cut to size instead and pop rivet it on.

They took the tyres off and wire brushed and put lots of sealer around. They are alloys. They put em back on and they still leak. I feel really let down.

    stupid forecourt compressors

Thing is I've been back to the tyre services three times and they have had wheels off and tested them and tell me theres nuffink wrong but I lose about 8psi per wk on one wheel and 5psi on another. Wears the tyres down and affects mpg so I should do summat. Dya reckon I should get innertubes put...

Does anyone else get annoyed trying to blow their tyres up? Where I go, its a n idiot proof one where you tap in the pressure and just hold it on the valve and it pumps up to the pre set value. Trouble is in these days of ultra health and safety all you get is a little puff of wind and it stops...

    disco 300 sub

Thanks for the post - good info. I have been wondering how you do this and like you baulk at the prospect of £12 + postage for the plug off Ebay. So the Y piece joins the 2 outputs on the back of the new stereo? Pretty sure there are 2 outputs. Then the single cable from the splitter needs to...

    300tdi intercooler

True, but the main source of gue is the EGR putting exhaust into your inlet manifold where it is mixed with oil droplets from the breather. There may be some oily deposits in the intercooler but I reckon the manifold and EGR should be your first jobs. What do the rest of you think?

    300tdi intercooler

Don't know, I used Jizer on my inlet manifold and it did the trick. Why are you doing the intercooler? There is more likely to be gunge in the manifold (esp if you still have an EGR). I'd be interested to know how mucky the intercooler is. I did the manifold but didnt do the intercooler.

    300tdi intercooler

Its easy enough to get it out. Just undo the 2 intercooler hoses and the 4 bolts on the plate that covers the rad top and the whole thing lifts out. Some people say clean it out with petrol or Kerosene but you need to be 100% certain its all evaporated before putting it back on.

Drivers heated seat not working, passenger seat fine

Would this be the same for a humble 300TDi? Its an ES and the heating doesnt work on the passenger side. Lights come on on both switches but only the drivers side works. I wouldnt mind but I want to make unknowing front seat passnegers think theyve wet themselves!

    mpi vs tdi mpg

It was bad enough in the 80's when Rover decided to put the ludicrous 'O' series 2.0 petrol in the SD1 model. That was a big car but not as big as a disco.

    rangerover flat battery

Have you considered the obvious like the battery may well be at fault? cold weather always brings in a flurry of dead batteries. Disconnect it and leave for 2 days and see if its the same.
