You had me going there for a while! I know you dont have one cos you have a Citroen Muriel or summat. I don't know about 69MPG - I take manufacturers economy figures with a pinch of salt. A 300TDi Disco should do 47MPG according to the handbook! After refilling the Focus, I drove 205 miles and...

I had a dell quay eurosport 15 with evinrude 70 it was a bit awkward launching and recovering on your own. Fuel economy? 3mpg! but great fun. Going to get a smaller boat for fishing.

Well, I reckon it was the trip to Brighton that cost £200 in diesel that was the last straw. Don't get me wrong I loved the disco but when its the only car in the family its a bit steep to run. The Focus C MAX 1.6Tdci will do up to 69 mpg and 50 just around town! On my annual 9000 miles that...

I thought the brake shoes were fixed and the drum spun round. If it threw a shoe all that would happen is your handbrake wouldnt work. But what do I know I'm just a focus owner......

    Its Gone!

I know, sorry. Don't know what I was thinking! I can see me getting a series to play about with. Landys are OK but not for an everyday vehicle is the conclusion I have come to. Soeone I work with just got a S3 diesel on a Y plate complete with Ivor Williams canopy on the back for just £50! I...

Just been to manchester and got an 04 C Max 1.6TDCi. I thought that being only a 1.6 and a diesel at that, it would be sluggish. Far from it - this thing is quiet and it flies along and does up to 69 mpg!

Well, its finally over, £2.5K later and I am now Landyless. Mixed feelings. Part of me misses it already. Not sure what to replace it with. I have enjoyed being a part of the community on here. Most of you have been helpful and friendly most of the time! I will still have the occasional lurk...

    serpantine belt?

Just had a look in the Haynes book and theres 2 types: Lucas A127 or Magnetti Marelli. The Lucas one looks quite straightforward not sure about the Itallian one! If its the Lucas then This might help!

    serpantine belt?

TBH I've never done one on a disco but I have done Lucas ACR type alternators. Basically a little bit fiddly but I suspect that the bearings will have a number on the outer race eg '6306' for example. If you manage to get them off with a puller then a good bearing supplier will probably sell you...

You can take the alternator to bits and change the bearings if you feel brave!

No eggspert but I think it sounds like a dodgy UJ on one of your propshafts. Does the noise increase with RPM or road speed?
