    p38 mud tyres

Hi GTLand I am running 245-70-16 BFG AT KOs on my P38, they end up with a very slightly larger rolling circumference than the originals and have caused absolutely no issues whatsoever. I have got a mate who has ended up running 265-70-16s BFG AT KOs on his P38 (more by chance than anything...

Hi Crossy Was it the BECM (ECU under the drivers seat) or the engine ECU (By battery under bonnet) that you have had repaired? Andy

What about a section for LR services?

Hi All Would it be a good idea to have a section to advertise LR services. There are obviously quite a few enthusiasts who either run or would recommend services, ie diagnostics. As an enthusiast with Rovacom, it strikes me this would be an ideal place to share services. There must also be...

    P38 ECU problems?

Hi Iain When you plug your EAS diagnostics in, what fault comes up? Thanks Andy

    engine disabled

Hi Pete There a quite a few people about who can reset the BECM, basically unlock it, disable the alarm if you can't get it to play ball. this is normally round about the £100 mark. I am one of those people, you also have irishrover, who would be nearer to you if you were in Ireland, Callrova...

    Air Springs replaced...Ha, Ha, Ha!!!!!!!!

Hi All The last air spring replacement we did, albeit on a classic, we just replaced the bags themselves not the top and bottom plates, much easier and quicker. Only thing is you do need to clean up and then lube up the top and bottom plates once you have got the old bags off. Cheers Andy

    P38 ECU problems?

Hi Iain Air suspension: 2 ECUs for the air suspension is news to me, I can only assume, especially given the price, that LR are suggesting the BECM is faulty. Don't really buy this thought. Definitely check all the earthing points, RAVE (the workshop manual on CD - people are offering this on...

    Suspension problems?

Hi Bobbler My experience has shown that the air bags leak at some height setting more than others as the wear / perishing sits badly at some heights and not so badly at others. You could try some gas leak detection spray to identify which air bags are leaking, but if it were me, for the sake...

    Re Boot or Power up

Hi DO try to get to the bottom of the electrical fault, it may cause you expensive problems to, for example, the BECM, if there are dodgy earth's or dodgy connections. Andy

    P38 starting problems

Hi Steve I know this may sound strange, but have you actually got a rear bulb failure and does the rear window not work? or are these messages inaccurate. Also when the engine won't start have you worked out what is stopping it, ie fuel or spark? Just some thoughts that might focus down to...

    Strange EAS goings on! :S

If this fault has arrived after pressure washing the car, my first port of call would be to unplug the sensor connectors, dry them out, grease them up (or WD40) and reconnect. If you pressure washed under the bonnet, do the same on the connectors on the valve block area. Is there any obvious...

    Eas concern?

Best way we have found to find the leaks is gas leak detection spray. Spray it around the bottom of the airsrings, all pipe connections on the valve block and the tops of the air springs. Best wishes Andy

    Air suspension

Hi All We have just replaced the air bags on our LSE (have previously done them on my P38) and just bought the dunlop bags no tops or bottoms. The job is a doddle, The full replacement we did on my P38 was not difficult, but just to replace the actual rubber part on the LSE was even easier and...

    help

No sorry... :) If you do a lot of towing, the simplicity of just being able to back under the tow hitch and then lift the car completely outweighs the maintenance of the EAS. Who wants to have to use the jockey wheel? I suppose if you only tow a shoebox it is not so much of an issue. EAS all...

    windows not working

I am assuming back switches do not work either, ie it is not something as simple as a connection issue to centre switch pack? Do lights, interior and road lights work as expected? Andy

Cruise control - no steering wheel response

Have you got steering wheel mounted ICE controls? If so, do they still work? Does the horn still work? A bit expensive and I would check lots of other things first but it could be the spiral cassette. Do either of the buttons work, ie can you resume a previous setting (don't know whether P38...

    help

Hi All Completely agree with eightinavee, serviced mine a good few years ago now and have had no problems since (other than the exhaust melting the pipe obviously!) The valve block is not rocket science, even if you can't work out what each bit does, cleaning things, replacing worn O rings and...
