Hi all, I decided to sell my Disco td5, and buy a defender, the question is on a limited budget, would I be better off with a late 300 or an early td5. Owning a td5 for 5 years or more, I am aware how smooth they are. But command more money, are the 300 as reliable (in Landy terms), your views...

Hi all, my 2001 disco has too have a plate welded on too it, around 15" , I have read that corrosion is common , but are people now having too weld? , or I am I just unlucky. :(

I twiddled the cables under the seats, as my wife and I both drive the car, the seat goes from fully back to fully forward, 2/3 times a week. Lights gone out now :)

I think I need to change the water pump on my td5, I herd that aftermarket ones aint no good, any views , also can it be changed with out removing the turbo and other stuff

How do you change a water pump on a td5 disco without removing the turbo, etc

I would replace both, but its possible that you have leak in an air spring, rub soapy water over them, looking for bubbles. There easy to replace

How easy is it to fit a generic 12n socket (£12 at halfords) as opposed to the plugin lr one that cost £50 +. Any other cheapskates like me out there ?

I had this problem, check the ride hieght sensors to see if they need replacing and the air springs, I changed the lot, seems fine now

I had 4 General Grabber AT2`s, fitted yesterday, 235/70/16 on my Discovery TD5, by Event tyres, total £415.56. Fitted, balanced, etc at home on my drive.

Any one had expieriance of Avon Ranger TSE tyres, they say 15% off road 85% on. which suits, and I can get 4 fitted for £306. Any views ?

Hi all, After serching this forum I am looking to buy a set of General Grabber AT2 for my Disco 2. I called a specialist and he tells me that Cooper tyres are a better make, yet I can find no evidence of this from previous posts.........so am I been mugged off by the dealer ?

Got the new calipers today, and guest what was in the box,......copper sealing washers !!!!!!!!!!!!

Found em, I`ve orderd 4 from lr direct, with post it was over £7.00 for 4 washes. I`m convinced that they will be something I could get on the high street, but with home spannering, you need all the bits or your stuck... you know how it is. Thats why I asked, thanks for you help

Thanks David, In the rave cd it says discard the sealing washers and fit new ones to the banjo bolt, so I am hoping some one will know what I need regards. Thats unless you can reuse the old ones Ray

Hi all It never rains , it pours....... Running my td5 hard to try and find coolent loss, I find o/s f brake sticking, lots of smoke and pong. I looked today and one of the caliper piston boots looked fecked, wouldnt push back easy, other side did. I have decided to replace the front calipers...
